Maintenance on EUROPEAN/US TIME GAMING

its funny that they even managed to time this "emergency maintenance" from 4pm to 9pm gmt.
Common do they really think w believe they can plan and carry out 5 hours of maintenance at the drop on a hat. They must have planned this for at least 12 hours before starting it, and if they could wait that long why not 8 hours more.

I dont even understand why people are complaining about this. If SE was North America based it would perform its maintenance during JP prime time.

Didn't they have a go at rotating maintenance periods a few years ago? Am I just remembering someone's wishful thinking at DiV? If they did, what happened to cause this to stop?

When you have a 24 hour service you try your best to schedule maint in the time when th eleast players are online, EU prime time is that time. If these were weekly maints then you might have a point but they are so infrequent you are just being a whiney baby.

I'm from the EU and I accept how it is, I would rather the current situation than no maint at all.

This "emergency" maintenance is likely due to what happened sometime between midnight and 4am EST last night. The search function completely crashed on Phoenix, couldn't check LS member list, friend list, do any type of search, inviting people was hard as well. There were several hiccups with the search feature during the day prior to this as well. And no, this was not just me, it was everyone in linkshell and there were shouts about in Port Jeuno (because theres always shouts in Port Jeuno).

Summary: It took them hours to perform "emergency" maintenance. Interpret as you will.

Yes that's exactly what happened Zyer, I think it happened on all servers. The AH was down as well.

Any maintenance that wasnt scheduled and announced a week or so an advance has always been considered "emergency" maintenance.

Really shocking people havent picked up on this after so many years.
