Suggestions: Quality of Life Stuff and other suggestions

When you redo assaults for the mythic quest Duties, Tasks, and Deeds, you accrue a lot of assault points, which are all but useless. You will spend a small fraction of them on Salvage entry for mythic magian trials, but most will go to waste. You could use them on salvage, to farm alexandrite, but due to the availability of cheap alexandrite from ambuscade, farming salvage for alexandrite is not worth doing.

Please consider ways to make assault points valuable again. My favourite solution would be an ability to convert assault points to nyzul tokens or therion ichor at a reasonable exchange rate, say 1 for 2.

Add Therion Ichor to the copper voucher list.

It's 2021 please add skip cutscene. Having to rewatch them on alts every time is very annoying and time consuming. Thank you.

They discussed this in the past, due to FFXI's cutscene system they can't really add a univeral "skip cutscene" button. It would have to be set up for every cutscene individually. Which they at least did do for the HTMBs, since you're guaranteed to have seen them before anyway- and this is how it would have to look- a prompt at the start that says "skip event?"

Unlike say, FFXIV, where in nearly all cases cutscenes do not contain decisions that matter, in FFXI, what the game considers cutscenes very often contain important decisions, like what item you want to obtain. So FFXI's cutscenes have a lot of scripting that would still need to be carried out even if you don't want to view the scene. (Of course, this is one of the reasons why FFXIV removed most cutscenes from group content and any decision making is only made after the cutscene is over)

It would take so long to update every cut-scene that it would be classed as a complete waste of developer time for something so small, so they can't.

There are windower addons that spam enter through cuts if you are so inclined.

Irrationally entitled much? It has been proven time and time again that SE will run the game how they want no matter how snarky or irritated 1-2 people get.

You paying for this game does not obligate or compel anyone to change it exactly to your liking. The game has a certain budget and that's why they dont wave a magic wand an d poof it into exactly what you want. So decisions have to be made. Do we invest a lot of time and resources into this feature that some people may find kind of nice or do we invest it in things everyone will notice or want more? If you really want them to, say, stop Voracious Resurgence, stop making job updates, BCs, or any other content you might want to do for an extended period, just say so and maybe if everyone here agrees, we can convince them to invest every ounce of their effort into adding a skip button individually to all of the thousands of cut scenes that exist in this game.

Ultimately it's up to them, and if you don't like it, you can stop paying for this game. You (and others) may not like this reality, and that's fine. Personally I'd rather see them add more content than invest a lot of effort into a modest convenience.

Nearest enemy or nearest NPC targeting in FFXI could use improvement.

When you use autotarget in Dynamis, you consistently autotarget pets, and instead of targeting another monster nearest to you, you frequently target one that is in the distance.

It would be great if there was an option to prevent auto-targeting enemy pets, and to be able to switch the behavior from the current (which I assume is based on internal IDs) to nearest.

F8 has some problems too. It is expected to target the nearest non-player character, i.e. monster or NPC, but does not always work that way. For example, when you are in Reisenjima at the entrance, you can stand right in front of Ethereal Ingress #1 and spam F8, but it will only target Chapulis in the background.

As I just mentioned in another thread, I believe I mentioned it here before, while money isn't an issue with me, I am just saying for a monthly paid game, they might want to consider updating the loading speed, and stop having the game run on 56k speeds, and instead update it to modern connection speeds. Having to wait 30+ seconds every time I zone to talk in my LS or access my items is not fun.

They also should consider updating the graphics. Pretty sure it's been mentioned before, and while they can keep the battle system and such, I feel for the price of the game it really needs an update, with the connection issue as a top priority.

The biggest quality of life issue with this game in my humble opinion is how slow it loads.

Also yeah I agree with skip cutscene, they really need to do an overhaul of things if they are going to keep charging a monthly fee, please put the money collected towards updating the game. Not asking for an entire brand new game, just update the loading times and such.
