Furthermore, there is a flaw in your argument that there is no longer a reason to support the original machine, which is that there are players that still use the original machine. Due to the number of players still using the aforementioned original machine, that is an unacceptable option, or it would already have been done. Therefore this is the issue that must be addressed before support for the original machine can be dropped.
You're quite mistaken. I understand both the concept and the reality of the importance of upgrading systems. You don't seem to understand that players who still use PS2 are paying customers just as you are, and are a significant portion of the player base. They should not be left behind because just because you can't accept that their money is worth as much as yours.
