it's more money for SE lol

I did this though I also changed to au ra when they came out. I always go for the least human-y looking race available in an MMO. I play a human in real life, it pretty much sucks, so in a fantasy game I want to be something else.Quote:
on FF14, the "only" time I fantasia coz of Hrothgar introduction per 5.0
careful... u might get ur wish... lawl
Honestly I think a lot of players won't even buy this to change race, they will just want to change hair.
I spend hundreds doing this on other games over the years.
The hair options are so weak that no, I think it would be done to change race more. Since race changes also have a (tiny) effect on stats.
If you've played this game for a long time, the "weak" hair options carry more weight.
Each face/hair model has a kind of heavy personality associated with it based on the people you have interacted with in the past, and so changing has more impact on how you see your character and how you interact with other people. Plus it's hair + face.
I mean, I've played this game since the NA release, and I haven't been interested in changing my head because I don't see one that I like better, again because the options are pretty weak. In other words, that's your opinion. I don't associate each head with a personality.
I probably wouldn't use it but then again maybe I would, as I have used around One Hundred in FFXIV over the years until I attained Purrfection with my Miqo'te of late.
The only thing FFXIV version lacks is the City-State can't be edited which is strange is it not.
Why wouldn't they add this feature, more money!
How much more money is important. If the feature isn't that useful, there might not be enough people interested in paying for it to justify the implementation. If they could do a value add in expanding customization options, that would instantly sell it to a lot more people. Of course, that requires more work as well- But as a start, they could offer head styles to make you look like various NPCs with relatively low cost.
It may surprise you to hear that players are not immediately issued a forum account upon creating their first character.
I've been playing since just a bit before Level Sync was implemented, whenever that was, but I couldn't be bothered with the official forums until just last year.
You may not be aware of this, but the forums didn't exist when the game launched.
Again, I repeat, the forums did not exist when the game launched. "the guy" seems to love beating on others and getting called out for it when he's blatantly and obviously incorrect. :)Quote:
nah... I do aware. The guy seems love to ramble alot for someone who claims playing from that long & only bothers registering on forum for nearly a decade.
Here's an article mentioning the opening of SE's official forums, dated March 2011. Join date make sense to you now?
https://au.news.yahoo.com/2011-03-08-final-fantasy-xi-and-xiv-open-official-forums.html
The SE account site doesn't list the registration dates for POL accounts and expansions and other permanent options, but it does list the date of registration for mech reward codes. I registered an ingame item code from the FFXI Piano Collection CD in 2008.
I've been called a lot of things, and been in a lot of arguments and discussions. But this is the first time anyone's questioned how long ago I started playing lol.
https://i.imgur.com/iVVdP0M.png hey look I haven't updated my PlayOnline handle profile since 2005 apparently lol
And I have over 25000 hours of playtime- honestly kind of low compared to some people who've been around as long as I have, but a year or two after audolin came out, I wasn't playing very much for a while.
oh wow...
To think that I've been enjoying forums since late 90s, early FF11 days must've been really bleak for you, having only POL when their social service still alive. Guess you're very ecstatic when FF finally have forums, albeit the time when those already began to wane due to surge of social medias.
This thread went... out of topic anyway.
Not to worry, these official forums are almost useless. SE do whatever they want to do with FFXI nowadays but yeah that guy is often above everyone else said in "replies" links.
I don't care if this thread went off topic lol, I registered today just to throw my hat into the fire. GIMME FANTASIA PLEASE OH PLEASE GOD PLEASE I'LL GIVE YOU ALL THE MONEY! And.. and... The love! And admiration! BUT MOSTLY THE MONEY
red one?https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/i...ies/tongue.png
for some1 so critical, now it's ur turn perhaps. Whenever the heck did I say "FF11 forums"? I said "forums" as in general. duh...
I am aware of it.
What did I do to deserve my ban from the official FF14 forums!? I want to show SE I am a good boy so I came here to be their forever invincible white knight! I always come to disagree with your opinions and I will not let you to meet new friends here just because you are a bad boy and I am not! Wait, how the heck did SE remove my long-term signature!? I am a good boy above everyone! Now where's my treat!? :3
...
FFXI is basically a private business. They do whatever they want unlike FFXIV which is a serious business. If anything this like FFXIV then most of us will get banned for gibberish.
You very specifically cited my join date for THIS FORUM in order to make critical snark remarks. Don't play dumb.
Now, the other people posting here have a very legitimate request to make and support. Since you're clearly just trolling, it's time to pull out the ignore list. Let these people ask for their fantasias in peace(Should have done this much sooner, sorry)
..... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
sounds like current events in real life where people aint happy being the race they were born. LOVE YOURSELF FOR WHO YOU ARE PEOPLE!

A fictional character isn't me and I'd rather not to be a handsome Japanese dude. but if anything I'd be someone that looks like Gandalf. But ehh.. You 100% looked like mine when I first played FFXI and got a lot of bad reputation by mean people.... Being a Mithra already gave me a lot of independence.
doesn't prevent some ppl to fantasize whom they really wanna be ;)
Its really telling, that we have to beg a company to give us micro transactions and to do the bare minimum to maintain their game..... Why am I in this timeline
First time ive ever seen someone say they wouldn't want more options. Well yay, now I get to disagree with someone,w woohoo. Maybe you don't want them, but some other people might. I myself would only be interested in a fantasia-like feature if the character customization were improved, because the options available are so limited that there's just nothing currently that I like better than what I have.
But I support people who want the feature to get it- I would just greatly, greatly prefer it if more options were added. Because there are very few compared to almost every MMO released since FFXI.
The character creator lied to me! I look nothing like how I thought I would :( And back when I was picking mithra, I played in 2002 with JP release, I thought they were cat boys lol...
I know you're just being silly btw ^^ But I have to say, just in general, people changing races are not going to impact anyone in a negative way. If they stated they are no longer going to give us major content, or major updates, they can at least give us fantasia now and let us have fun with this, with what's left...and SE gets to make money, win/win! :o
We are getting major updates, all the time. New storylines is major updates, new endgame IS major updates.
I want them to add the race/hair swap because it is a change, and a change is a breath of fresh air in how you view / interact with the game. I've done this on multiple mmorpgs and it does re-invigorate the game to some degree. Personally I would probably just change hair / face since I like the races I originally picked, but it's still a breath of fresh air regardless.
Some people don't really care that much how their characters look, which is understandable. Just realize that some people really do and this has a big impact on how they play the game.
Minor story updates with one "new" aka reused/rehashed content, with old zones does not equal expansions like in the older days. We used to get expansions with new jobs, new zones, tons of new equipment, along with a very long story line released all at once. Those expansions were major, not the story we are getting now, which is nice, but can't compare it to what we used to get.
There is an interview where Yoshida said that FFXI is not getting any major updates anymore, you can't compare what we get in FFXI to Endwalker, now Endwalker IS a major update. Aht Urgan, CoP, etc, were all major updates. They basically came out and said FFXI is just being updated by the FFXIV team "when they get time", which is fine I guess. The whole point was this game is no longer what it was back then, you simply can't compare the two anymore. Also, we probably don't want to get this thread off topic, it's about getting a fantasia and simply showing support.
Where did I say I am not having fun with the game? Strawman is a weak argument with no premises. Also changing races is nothing like "Dress Up Simulator", which I've never heard of, unless you are implying I play FFXI for dress up, which is wrong. You have no idea who I am nor what I do with my game time. I've been playing my Mithra mule for a while now, along with my main character, and having fun. :o
We already have the nice outfits in FFXI, nothing wrong with a race change option. It literally hurts no one and gives SE money. Don't see the problem with it if SE said they would offer it, given enough folks want it.
Major content additions and expansions are different things, especially since expansions cost $50.
None of FFXI's expansions were priced at $50 that I can recall. I seem to remember them being $29.99 or $39.99
keep the hopes then. Over FF14, they eventually relents having jump potions on their 3rd expansions. Albeit FF11, again, having very limited chara customization. I don't see the problem ppl wanting to fantasia.
After all... SE did finally implement things that FF14 did: extra paying wardrobes just like FF14 did with extra retainers/saddlebags. ;)
Hey I remember you from FFXIV! I was Babydoll (Since changed my name lol) we used to do Chocobo Caravan together a lot :D and yeah, I wonder how difficult it would be for them to give us fantasias on FFXI...
Yeah they were cheap, and very nice, worth the money :D I wish we'd get another one someday but you know..heh. There are a lot of places left to visit in Vanadiel, I always wanted to see the Giants homeland thing, and where the Mithra came from. One of my friends used to have a website where he mapped the entire Vanadiel, it was really interesting.
The only way XI could ever possibly get another expansion would be if the upcoming ff16 was a total flop and BD5 was put to be nothing but online games, I hope that happens.
IF the single player game from the mmorpg division is a success xi and xiv are going to get less love (well xiv mostly cause xi doesn't get that much anyway)
