FFXI 18+ options?

I think Cid's teeth deserve a Mature rating as it is, he doesn't need to swear to scare children (or toughened adventurers), He just needs to smile.

They want to keep the game rated Teen, so nothing like this could ever happen.

There is a small amount of cursing, a few NPCs say "Damn," but that's about it. One instance of this was removed when they made rent-a-rooms automatic. One of the Tarus in windy would say "Damn, I knew you'd make me have to do more paperwork..."

Less restrictions = more players = more money.

This idea would never fly, cuz if SE did this then all the parents would have a fit and would swear to boycott SE and never let their kids play this game.

They could do id verification kinda like Second Life does to access the adult areas.

Even when the outraged parents did strike, it would just get more players for FFXI. Look at GTA San Andreas... The parents raised a stink after learning about "Hot coffee" and it attracted a ton of players. It became one of the best selling games of all time.

I have been wondering that since first post. It just doesnt make sense. If people want more 'adult' content then theres lots of that out there already and I think it would seriously mess up the audience here.
FFXI is different than the other games out there. The graphics are totally different, not as sexual in nature nor as gory. Giving the game more R content would not be in keeping with what is in the game already.
I am not saying the game is G rated content but it focuses on game playing content not pushing the line on 'adult' titillation so much.

18+ shouldn't be accessible period. Unless you're in your MH or the back room in WG. There are alot of young players I know a few myself. Either way there are alot of .DAT's online if you want the 18+ look.
Adult stuffs stays where adults keep it, in /tell or next to trail markings. Although I don't completely disagree on this idea, it would be unwise to include such material for the younger players or for players that could be easily offended (and by Altana there is alot of the latter).

On a separate note I believe Anne's comment holds some good basis. Maybe we should be wasting our attention trying to get a update so we can sit on chairs and such.... Rather then whining about the lack of pr0n.
Hell a few idle emotes or positions to stand in would be sweet.

You can get pretty much anything you could want from custom motions/emotes to well done nude mods if you want 18+ "stuff", just look up the adult FFXI dat modding forum. Forgot the name of it, neko something.

This would solve all of the Alt/Tabbing I need to do.

FFXI is a game, not a sexual simulated hentai world for your diverse lusts and wants.

no thank you. keep the rating where it is. If you want porn or swear fests, or whatever, go do that somewhere else please. You have plenty of options w/out turning ffxi into it.

This is the dumbest suggestion I have seen in these forums so far.

If you want FFXI 18+ theres the following options:

-Get a PC, download 18+ .dats, use them. The othre players wont see them, only you unless someone also uses the same .dat file.
- Look up FFXI Adult Doujinshi
- If you are an artist make your own (be it H-art or Dojins)
- Look up FFXI hentai flash games, I'm sure theres at least 1 out there

Also...as is MANY female gear is scantly clad (Subligar aside for both genders) especially on Mithra, rdm hotpants anyone?

FFXI and sex aren't a good mix. It's like...broccoli covered in butterscotch.

Besides, with PS2 limitations, the sex would be underwhelming anyway.

I love how people think I'm a troll suddenly and yet, I've never trolled in my life. I was simply suggesting an idea that will never happen. I got my idea from playing Second Life. They have pose balls that let you do that kind of adult stuff. I guess the first step here would be to allow players to sit in chairs XD The pose balls animate your avatar into a certain pose and movement. I don't see that being such a big step. If they put those in, we could interact with so much more in game. Imagine being able to lean against a wall or sit by the water, dipping your feet in. Imagine being able to lay in a bed or chill our in chairs around a table. Then from there, we can talk about the rest. In the end, it really comes down to SE letting us interact with more things.

Sure, Time Mage is my favorite FF job, but I already said in the Time Mage topic the the job is not viable at all given the game mechanics and spells the other jobs has.

That topic starts just like many others: hopeful, but not realistic, and then goes down the hill. This one was already in the bottom of a bottomless pit in at the end of the hill from the first post. And then it went down.
