that was trippy, i remember having to pull to there and ssometimes i would get lost.
I remember when my ex b/f told me exp leveling happen in sky and you had to get access just to lvl up.

Hah actually that just triggered a very old memory. When I first started 2 guys picked me up as their project and I kept seeing them in sky on the /sea command (showed as gardens or something back then). They described it as a floating garden paradise where all the high levels hung out, and I literally imagined everyone just chilling out up there in hot springs and playing beach ball or something.
Other than Ragnarok Online, this was my first MMo, so I really didn't know what happened at high level, which is why I was borderline mental with this opinion of it.
Didn't Penta-thrust cause the TP nerf?
Also, I remember when WAR used two axes, and when party setups with a Thief included a tank and an "SATA target".
And in relation to Penta-Thrust, I remember SAM/DRG and SAM/RNG.
Yes, that was the primary reason for the tp nerf. If I recall right, if all hits landed, you would get something like 30 or so tp back on penta thrust and could just end up spamming it.
I also remember when AoE or multi-hit attacks only took 1 shadow of utsu, or fishing was as simple as /fish and hit enter when getting a bite (you either got it, lost bait, broke line, or broke pole) with no mini game attached to reel in. I remember being able to throw rangers at Kirin with a Kclub and destroy him, same for DL, due to there being no distance penalties. I remember when there was very little difference between a war tank and a pld tank because sentinel only increased defense rather than mitigated damage (which also meant in dynamis you slept mnk and war during 2hour).
Lastly, I remember when gearing for jobs wasn't so much a hassle....because gear choice was severly limited to the point that even seeing someone break 12% haste in tp meant they were mnk, or extremely rich to afford speed belt. The choice of Haste gear just wasn't there outside of Dusk hands/feet (+1 wasn't even around yet) Speed belt, Byakko's Hiadate, and mnk belts. All pre-CoP era. Best body for drg 70+ was Assault Jerkin (wasn't half bad for thf either).....Now you have so much gear choice per job you don't have room to store it all let alone some jobs can't even carry the full extent of it. Talk about going one extreme to the other.
It wasn't penta thrust, it was asuran fists with relic knuckles (base drop). Due to how h2h damage was calculated, this was a 34 damage weapon that gave 20 tp per fist, with 2 attacks per round. After getting tp (2-3 attack rounds, or an icarus wing), they would need to land 5/8 hits (62.5% accuracy) to get 100% tp. Since it was a 34 damage weapon, mnks could still do ~800 dmg with asuran fists, and then have tp to do it again, and again, and again, without ever stopping. Penta thrust gave about 65 tp with 5/5 hits.
I remember when people got upset when CoP was released, because the JP version was out with content active a week or so before the NA release date.
I remember partying in the Maze of Shakhrami.
I remember fishing for hours on end while lfg, and never getting an invite.
I remember shouts for Hakutaku runs.
IIRC they had almost no level correction penalty either.

...What now.
Wait didn't ToAU make RDM the only acceptable mage job for experience parties?
RDM was the only mage job you would see in parties in ToAU as they could adequately and extremely efficiently heal a 6 man, haste it, and keep themselves refreshed, without ever stopping. SMN was ok but unless they wanted to nuke their mana on Hastega every few minutes, ignored. WHM was ok too, but required at least a 2-3 MP per tic gear set to even start to keep up and not cause downtime in the high chain 200-500+ parties. BLM was left to gather dust in a corner while sucking it's thumb (however BLM manaburns were awesome in Mount Zhayolm, specially on my Suicide BRD). BLU was very meh, not enough people knew the job well enough though.
I didn't even have to flag up on my RDM, as within about 10 seconds of logging in I had people bidding to make me join their BEST TP PARTY I WILL EVER JOIN!!!
What a load of crap, not that I expected anything else out of your mouth. The rest of you were just jealous. Before and after ToAU, RDM was an excellent soloer, tank and healer/buffer. Genbu was an easy solo, but not many jobs could have solod Seiryu, Suzaku or even Zipacna or Faust. RDM could. If you think RDM was anything less than overpowered at 75 you're mental.
I remember when AV and PW were impossible..
P.S
RDM's ran it from the beginnings of FFXI until Abyssea, its when Abyssea came that RDMs were humbled some, and which is why I share no sympathy for the class, especially to the DD's. Thats a change that I won't be regretting any time soon, although I do hope that RDM's get enfeebling bonuses, but knowing most of them they would think its a valid reason for why they should be a DD than an enfeebling job @+@
My list of remember is to long but these are the few i remember.
1. Remember leaving the gamecube version of PSO for this game since abunch people i knew came over , we never did find each other since we all were on different servers, after few months we found that out.
2. Remember One day i pulled a 12 hr work day with a 16 hr work day and when i came back on the game 30+ people in the linkshell that i was in , they were all above my level and they couldn't lv with me, so i just spent next yr and half just crafting stuff with my flag up and everytime I get a party invite it be time for bed.
3. Remember I ended up getting a xbox and was in a halo2 game and this one dude , ended laughing his ass off at me, because i didn't know how to create a party on this game, but he did teach me and then when the xbox 360 beta came out i felt godly till had 40 people join the server I was in and had to give them 100k gil each because was so cocky and had 6 mil on me at the time.
after reading this forum for a long time i finally found the ideal thread to make my first post, cause everyone loves a bit nostalgia and the older i get the more i enjoy looking back at the things they changed for good (or for worse).
i remember stating in ls (pre-aby era) that i loved playing ninja and that everyone acted like it was their first visit at the zoo and their first glance at the monkeycage. now you run through pj and walk by 20 nins and i stopped feeling special ;)
I remember spending more time fishing in Kazham then leveling.
