Perhaps this delay has something to do with the ongoing problem with the Festive Moogle and temporary removal of the Dealer Moogle for the same reason.

The main post said it was going to be delivering the item via Delivery Box, not Festive Moogle or Dealer Moogle.

Indeed; so is the delivery mechanism on the JP side as well. Though directly unrelated, since this event seems to be fashionably related to the 10-year anniversary/Vana Fest palooza, I thought "they" would want to handle things one step at a time.

I realize I'm pulling excuses out of thin air.

I seriously hope it isn't a legal issue.

It gets delayed by 1 day every time someone makes up a word in these forums. The word you were looking for is 'you'.

Guessing there is either a major flaw in the prize program itself or technical difficulties.

And, my third and cynical guess is that the program has been deemed too generous by someone and they are trying to figure a way to reduce the number of prizes or exclude prizes already offered without having it look that way.

I think the real reason for the delay is that the JP devs totally forgot about us. It's nothing new.

"Oh, yeah. NA/EU. I'll get right on that." (After I unpack from Yokohama, eat, FaceTwit, take a nap...)

They realized that there would be more potential winners for NA/EU than there were for JP at Vana'fest, so they have to recalculate the number of rewards. #conspiracy

Lies, everyone knows the instant that PS2 support is dropped, FFXI will look better than Tera/Aion/FFXIV/etc. and play better because all the events will suddenly be amazingly fun. Also global warming will be eliminated. Right?

its delayed because the head moogle lost his mog sack full of prizes and is currently on the lookout for it o_o, that is what I'm choosing to believe XD

i'm actually very thankful for SE postponing the event til a later date because it gives me a chance to do the event on my original account in a couple days that was stolen from me 5 years ago. it will be the best "welcome Back to Vana'diel" ever. <3 Thank you SE!!

It's possible that they realized that 1 prize attempt per square-enix account does not mean 1 prize attempt per player, or are my wife and I the only people who have more than one POL id on a square-enix account?

I'd like to see ffxi be reworked. But lets face it, SE is not gonna drop ps2 support or fix it up. I mean they JUST expanded the minimum requirement to 19 gb's for the system.

I think by the time they decide to drop support for ps2, ffxiv will be an actual game to be played on and nobody will care for ffxi anyways.

Maybe this maintenance is adding the gobbiebag NPC? :O i just know i want the creepy moogle stuff and i be waiting for 3 days now! I cant wait for them to release it =3 Lets all play the waiting game without yelling at SE, or they will lower our chances of winning! (possibly) ;O

Nah. It's been stated it'll be delivered via delivery box. Besides the maintenance is to resolve the listed known issues that couldn't be resolved from the lastest version update.

(but a gobbiebag npc would be nice lol)

The PS2 version isn't junk, it works great and looks great on an SDTV. I play on my PS2, PS3, 2 Xbox's and 3 PC's and having my PS2 version is a nice option when I wanna Play my PS3 or Xbox games while using Skype on my PC, allowing me to do 3 things at once. Although, if you look on the new expansion packs website, it says at the bottom... Systems Supported: Xbox 360 & PC. There seems to be no PS2 support for the new expansion.

And there wont be, PS2 support is only going to be in Japan. NA and EU wont be getting it on PS2. So lord knows why they upped the PS2 HD limit universally.

Sorry to side track, but that maint last night, didnt sort out the Aura Weapon Delivery problem, my SAM is now stuck with my Soboro... as I cant get my Glowing Muramassa off my weapon storage mule... /cry

i write here too hoping for a confirm. wasnt 5000 the price before? now it says only 500...maybe is just me ^^;

if we want ffxi to move forward, and maybe last 5 more years whats the harm in losing the ps2.

they should just port it to ps3 =/

Ports are horrible. The one to XBOX 360 was so lazily done it took years to fix such a simple glitch as crashing in Besieged, and when they finally did Besieged was dead anyway.

This is my first post but I feel an Important one. Is there any info coming out on NA/EU Vanafest Gobbie Bag event. Seems its been delayed and now no one is speaking. Maybe there hoping we forget but I would sure like to have that kool Moogle costume I see all the Japanese wearing. Americans and Europeans do play this game as well Square Enix we want the kool stuff. We pay are monthly FFXI bill just like everyone else. Any info would be appreciated cause atm seems like NA/EU are getting screwed with no appreciation for its other players..

there isn't any new info at this time. although from actually "reading" instead of complaining like everyone else has been, it is going to be a whole new type of event and they are currently working out a problem that has occurred. great things do not happen over night n i think everyone just needs to give SE some credit. they are working hard to get this NEW event up and ready for us.

It is 5000 NA / 500 EU (check both announcements). The rules says prizes are given on a region basis, so it makes sense to scale it for EU/NA :)
