Diremites rocked
I'd like to see a Bat Trio!
Like an earlier poster said, what's so bad about giving us a bird to fight with?
Bat Trio - BruceWayne
lol...
I'm also thinking about the JOBS of the pets they give us.... We have MNK, THF, WAR...
how about a BLM like a Hecteye or a Pudding? F'k it and just name him Hector or PuddingPop respectively
How about a WHM or RDM like a Pixie? F'k it... name it TinkerBell
How about a BST!! Or BRD!! A pet with Charm and/or party Buffs would make BST more beneficial in pt situations.
Oooh... a Ghost pet would rock!!
CrappyCasper or some Ish!!
+1 for Stinky Pete. Just don't touch the potty tentacle.
Watchful Wade
(Hecteyes) Lv.91
Black Mage/(?)Warrior
Unique JugPet that allows the expending of "Ready" charges to instead cast Elemental Magic. TP will increase either the Accuracy of Potency on the spell used. Still working out the bugs but this is my presentation of an idea to make a Hecteyes JugPet work.
1-Charge : Stone III, Quake, Water III, Flood, Aero III, Tornado, Fire III, Flare, Blizzard III, Freeze, Thunder III, and Burst.
2-Charges : Stone IV, Stonega III, Water IV, Waterga III, Aero IV, Aeroga III, Fire IV, Firaga III, Blizzard IV, Blizzaga III, Thunder IV, and Thundaga III.
3-Charges : Stone V, Water V, Aero V, Fire V, Blizzard V, and Thunder V.
Watchful Wade will have access to either Quick Magic or will have at the very least a "Interruption rate down" of atleast 60%. Like I mentioned earlier, still working the bugs out so any additional thoughts are greatly appreciated.
I will be working on more ideas for new Jug Pets and post them as they come to mind. Sorry in advance if anyone has mentioned an idea similare to this in an earlier post.
Following my Hecteyes idea, someone mentioned in an earlier post that they'd like to see an Opo-opo, and another post wanting to see more variaty of Jobs for JugPets. I have though of another way to create a caster-type JugPet. This time will be introducing it as an Opo-opo. Unsure of a decent name for the time being, but feel free to throw some ideas in and I will later edit it to add the name.
???
(Opo-opo) Lv.94
White Mage/(?)
This JugPet will always prioritize healing over offensive magic.
Will randomly cycle through a selection of White Magic spells every 30~40
seconds or once it attains 100% TP and above.
Magic Spells:
-Protectra IV
Only uses if it does not already have the effect on.
-Shellra IV
Only uses if it does not already have the effect on.
-Curaga IV
Only if itself or a party member is 70% HP or lower.
-Cure V
Only if itself or a party member is 70% HP or lower.
-Banish III
Primary spell of choice when itself and party members
are above 76% HP.

Once again, feel free to comment or add any ideas if you feel something should be changed. I will then edit the post and add the following changes.
I vote for a Bee only as long as "Final Sting" is an option.
3-4k dmg and reduce its HP to 1%.
new pets are meanlingless if they cant smack a mob hard enough to make ppl /shocked.
lulu does well with footkick... but only if the mob is flimsy.
tougher mobs barely take 200-400
I'm Thinking BST Should be able to "Call Chocobo".
Scorpion #1
Another Cactus #2 (cost effective -.-;;)
A Ram/Buffalo #3
I like the idea of pets that emulate jobs, but PUPs would throw a b**chfit. I -am- a career PUP and the idea kind of offends me, admittedly -- purely because the automaton is so unreliable and beast having a more powerful and reliable version of an automaton that will likely be considerably more durable is a slap in PUP's already bruised face.
Meanwhile... I'd like to see pets that haven't been used already. Buffalo, Gnolls... etc.
Hecataeye jug pet would be a nice change since they'll cast spells when under 90% tp so that'll help bst out soloing when call a hecataeye jug pet and when the pet doesn't have tp ready for weaponskill cause i would love to see a hecataeye cast freeze on a crab and that isn't a charmed pet so no risk of de-charming and casting it on the beastmaster ^^
I would love to see a puk jug. I don't think that its to out of the question seeing as we can already charm them.
FearsomeFadnog
Lvl. 99
THF/WAR
Abilities
Zephyr Mantle - 2 charges - Blink with 4 shadows
Wind Shear - 1 charge - AoE damage and knockback
Obfuscate - 3 charges - AoE Flash
Cross Wind - 1 charge - Wind cone attack and knockback. Damage based on HP
III Wind - 2 charges - AoE wind damage and dispel
White Wind - 3 charges - AoE heal. Healing amount based on HP
Unique Traits
Absorb Wind Element - Wind damage heals pet.
Auto-Regain - Regen TP on Windsday
Summary
The puk would be similar to DipperYuly in that it is evasive and otherwise fairly fragile. This pet will bring a few new things to the table; it has an AoE flash to help its evasion, a blink which i don't think any of our pets have yet, and wind based nukes that DipperYuly lacks. The pet is also a dragon mob, which to my knowledge is the only charmable dragon, of which we don't a jug for. Seeing as it looks fairly strong I can probably see us getting it as one of our last jugs.
A Puk pet would be so lovely now that i think about it... We need a second THF one similar to yuly.
Not to outshine yuly, but to create variety.
I would like a Gnole myself :D
Monkey!
Curious Gregory or something like that close enough to be a play on it, and far enough away not to get slapped with a copyright suit
A drake, like that npc in campaign would be awesome too.
In order of preference...A monkey (Warrior), a scorpion (Warrior, Scolopendrid), and a puk (Thief). Not inventive or original suggestions, but those three families produce some amazing monsters.
Plus, they could take over perfectly for our current rabbit, sheep, and lady bug if they are about to hit their level cap. Nursery Nazuna already caps out, so I'm less than confident the other two will hold out until 99.
The monkey's Magic Fruit could be AoE similar to Wild Carrot, Sharp Strike is basically a better version of a Sheep's Berserk, and pretty much any Thief-type can apply Treasure Hunter so it might as well be a monster with evasion-oriented abilities.
I would name the monkey "Furious Georgina" or something equally lame. I would name the scorpion "Creepy Carl", in honor of a mentally unbalanced guy I knew in high school. I would name the puk "Fluttering Fritz" because I want it doomed to remember that it's past as a fly on the wall of an imperial testing ground. Although I think the flies in Vana'diel are the size of basketballs, so he might be proud of his history.
They're playing with my emotions, hinting that we might get a colibri jug. I hope if we do, it's name has Morsel for the first part.
Actually, now that I think about it I'd like to see a monoceros jug that summons a teeny Ixion. Make sure the adjective part of it's name means "little".
I would love too Summon a Wyvern and the jug name would be REX! because he is cool like that.
I like big pets, and i cannot lie.
These other brothers can't deny
That giant antlions and scorpions are really awesome.
i want a goblin. i know i know blah blah cant charm beastmen. but i would get a laugh to pop a golden jug and a gob run out like a npc talking that funky dialect that SE made for them and dropping goblin rush or bombs or fireworks and spells.
1) Smilodon with collar
2) Pugil or, better yet, a Jagil
3) Hecteyes (no -ga spells, please)
4) Bat Trio
5) Slime
6) Beetle (Panzer Lancelot?)
7) Opo-opo (Stat bonuses with Pamamas)
8) Colibri (we need a bird)
Give me a ram jug pet with a hilarious name, and I'll be happy.
Rams are all boys, though. Maybe Giant George, Colossal Carl, Massive Murdoch, Inflated Irving. I don't know. Doesn't necessarily need to use alliteration, either.
need a Gorger pet. have a 3 charge "ready" that spits out babies and wipes pet and player TP. Or a second pet (maybe those personal pets ppl been asking for) that mimics your own actions. like a NPC only fights what you fight, and costs TP per tic to remain out. so you have to be meleeing to maintain its perpetuation. 1 Man Army GO!
I've got my fingers crossed for a Scorpion Jug. The amount of devastation a properly geared BST could mete out with Death Scissors is awe inspiring. It'd be a 3 charge ability, of course, but with proper merits and gear, I think you could probably reduce it to about 1:30. It's Sharp Spike is 50% attack bonus for FOUR minutes, with no repercussions, in which time, you could spam a few more atma boosted death scissors. It's the Chuck Norris of jug pets. It's also got some status ailment contributions, Bind and paralyze, and a Few AoEs which can be useful for clearning out hordes of Too Weak mobs. Call it Carnage-Cleaver Cleavland
A Dhalmel would be a fantastic contributor to small groups. Sonic Wave is (if I remember right) about a 50% defense down attack. For small groups that aren't quite rampaging through 5 IT mobs a minute with 18 members, -50% defense would certainly help a smaller group increase their kill count. Also, lets not forget how annoying healing breeze was in the long lost bibiki bay parties. Now it can be a life savor, rather than a chain killer. Berserk and Stopping can contribue some decent damage as well. It's name would be Papaka-Princess Penny
I really think SE NEEDS a new jug pet that has a unique skin, like Courier Carrie and her baskets, but we've seen all emoted putting gill in a courier carrie's basket before. SE could give us some good aesthetics, in the versatile Opo-Opo. Give it a little suit, and a hat... Maybe a cup. Whatever. lol Aside from the fact that it could be dressed up to give us something fun to look at, Opo-Opos are well rounded mobs, that can inflict damage AND a status ailment with a plethora of attacks. To put the icing on the cake, Vicious Claw is a pretty.. well.. vicious damaging ability. It doesn't contend with Death Scissors, but it's gets the job done. I'd also bet that since SE made Lulush's Wild Carrot an AoE cure, Opo's Magic Fruit would be as well. Um... Change-Beger Charlie?
My other idea for a unique appearance monster would be a Cactuar, but one that has Cactrot Rapido's fighting animations. He's my Pankration monster and unlike other HNMs, he retained his unique battle animations. If you've ever seen them, you know what I mean. He does special round house kicks, somersault kicks, spinning back hands, and has no walk animation: Only run and Run Faster. It's hilarious. 1000 needles would certainly work over high end NMs too. If SE wanted to be awesome, they could give him 1500~2000 needles. lol
Lastly, There have been talks of SE adding single use jugs... no thanks. Even if they require familiar to utilize a mob we normally wouldn't use for a single devastating attack... just no. If SE want's to do something amazing with our 2 hour, like Odin and Alex for smn, I think they should give us a jug or two that BST can RIDE, like the Mamool Ja on the Wivre, for 30 minutes (the duration of familiar's enhancement). In that time, the stats of preferably an HNM type mob like a Behemoth, Wyrm, Adamantoise, are added to the characters, hp, mp, str ect... and the character rides the mob like a chocobo. While in effect, all of your abilities are replaced by it's abilities/magic/weapon skills, are replaced by it's abilities. (including fast or slow movement speed from behemoth and adamantoise)
I'd like to see a bird type mob, this includes a possible bat.
And an aquaria type mob, like a fish or a crab.
Something to complete the list of all known eco system in my arsenal.
a Cockatrice pet named pecker or one eyed willy
on a cereal note a scorp named citizen snips pet would be great or a buffalo named big ben or something. we really need bird pets something better than a Apkallu...
tho id like t ask why they never gave bst a bird type pet b4 was there some reson or were they just /lazy?
Wivre would be what i want the most I think. Other than that a good uncapped pet for each ecosystem.
I think theres been a crow/vulture Jug Pet in the .dats for a while... Like since CoP when the other ~8 or so Unused jug pets were put in.
Though, I could be mistaken. I think I am...
What pet would you like? A beastmaster survey! :)
Howdy!
After talking to the development team, it seems like they are down to add a familiar from the below list to go along with the level cap increase to 99. (This is separate from the pets they are already planning to add!)
We’d like to hear from all of you which one you’d like to see implemented :)
• Chloris (Mandragora)
• Colibri
• Orapodium (Mandragora)
• Hippogryph
• Chigoe
• Karkinos (Crab)
• Scolopendrid (Scorpion)
• Toad
• Red crab
• Orobon
• Hecteyes
• Pachypodium (Mandragora)
• Scorpion
• Crawler
• Funguar (Different color)
• Rafflesia
• Slime
• Karakul
• Black antlion
• Hanuman (Opo-opo)
• Black beetle
• Ruszor
In regards to monsters not listed above, there are many which would take a bit of time to implement, so it seems difficult to get them in right away.
For example, large monsters rumble the ground when they walk, so there would be a need to address those kinds of things.
Since of course Behemoth and the four gods are quite popular, as we mentioned in the job concepts briefly, we would like to look into implementing these as a special type of pet similar to the avatars Odin/Alexander.
Also, similar to Flans, the back story is pretty complicated (※) so we would need to make adjustments to make it fit the story.
■Other feedback
If you are good with that we will look into it, but are you okay with not adding brand-new familiars?Quote:
Make the HQ familiars NMs or have different graphics.
We would like to do this.Quote:
Would like smaller size pets of large monsters.
We tried looking into revamping the system, but since the amount of work is on par with completely reworking the Call Beast system, making this happen seems to be quite difficult. It’s something we would like to do, but we apologize we can’t do this! :(Quote:
Add jugs that call a random pet each time.
I like this idea and believe we can do it, so we will look into it!Quote:
Add pets that can only be called while equipping Guttler.
※Some of you may have caught on to this when seeing the blue mage artifact quest “Omens” or even for the job introduction text, but Flans are essentially test subjects that could not become blue mages. There are some methods for avoiding this like saying that they were man-made Flans based on the original, so surely we can make something happen.
• Chloris (Mandragora)
• Hippogryph
• Karkinos (Crab)
• Black antlion
• Ruszor
Top 5.
• Chloris (Mandragora)
• Hippogryph
• Karkinos (Crab)
• Slime
• Ruszor
Would be nice :)
• Hippogryph
• Orobon
• Rafflesia
Also a Wolf pet would be cool, I realize it's technically undead, but I think an exception could be made, and having a pet immune to hp drain would be helpful.
Ruszors
Orobon
Hippogryph
Top 3.
• Chloris (Mandragora) - but only if we get access to Fatal Scream and the likes.
• Hippogryph
• Karkinos (Crab)
• Ruszor
Top 4 for me
• Chigoe
I vote for a chigoe pet on the grounds that it would allow for simply hilarious name possibilities.
IE: Petite Pierre
hehehe ;w;
Hanuman (as long as it casts some decent magic, and would proc like avatar's can)
Scorpion (Seriously who doesn't love having scorpion pets!)
Peryton (If this would count as the bird family since we are lacking those)
Orobon sounds cool also
Slime!
Scolopendrid
Toad
Raffelsia
Hanuman
Ruszor
Thats a really nice list.
