Hopefully, time to move on.

I don't understand why people seem to think an upgradeable tier of Ultimate weapons that's only been around for less than a year is suddenly going to be obsoleted by these shinies. If we're going to talk about "time to move on", let's bring Relics in here shall we?
Short version: There is absolutely no way that Empyreans will be left behind in this or any other update.
New glowing effects doesn't change the fact that most Empyrean WS are the top dogs in terms of damage or utility.
GKT: Latent Effect: Tachi: Ageha still sucks.
Uhm, are you playing my little pony or something? I haven't seen a single SMN that didn't praise Abyssea for being the best content ever. SMNs in general just complain about "No new attack BPs since 75", "Wards are mainly weaker than anything else and pointless", "Spirits sucks", "Not much help for the melee SMN" and so on.Quote:
Abyssea has caused all the SMNs to QQ, but my SMN with crap gear can out DD my WAR on mobs like Lord Asag (WAR being weakened most of the time doesn't help much).
All wards post 75 have been positively surprising though. I actually took the moment to ask my empyrean wielding NIN friend if the enfire helped much, and he said it doubled his damage (probably not on the double damage procs though).
It was both really, the few that tried couldnt kill it before Alex effect wore i think? The level increase made it possible due to the ability to destroy it a lot quicker.Quote:
Nope. Alexander was released before the level cap increase. People don't realise how 5 levels increse your damage output.
The first public reports I saw were level 80. That doesn't mean it wasn't being done at 75, though. There was a lot of profit to be made off of those first AVs. It would have simply required a good supply of well geared players with the right jobs. AV at 80 and especially 85 was an absolute joke =/.
It was being farmed before 80, it can be done without PD now.
Yeah meteor still one-shots everything in sight at lv90 and probably will still do the same at 99.
I do not like the idea of having to do old void watch to do the new ones. Voidwatch isn't that popular and I almost never see any shouts or groups forming for it besides Japanese ones who do not want English speaking people to join them. Sure it would be fun to kill these new NMs but it probably won't happen due to the fact that abyssea gear is so easy to get and usually better then voidwatch gear.
Now most people won't even get to do the new void watch part 2 because it requires doing all the first part.
Abyssea destroyed the LS mentality of the game and made almost everything pug. Now they are trying to go back to how it used to be, that's how it comes across anyway. They want people to make Voidwatch linkshells and have to do it that way.Quote:

Works on all types of damage. But if you have summoners there for Earthen Armour you may aswell just use Perfect Defense, unless you're doing multiple pops of course.
scherzo doesnt (took >3k discoid in salvage )
Latent effect on GKatana, i see twelves on there in the stats. Going by the near 100% cultural relevance FFXI has in many of its lore and weapons. I'd have to say this Katana is a relation to Biblical Significance, the Zodiac or the 12th century history of the Samurai.
Most likely the Way of the Warrior-Governmental perfection.
If the list is accurate on the wiki, Tachi: Rana is the twelve WS of the GKatana, Fudo being the 13th. SE likes to push the limits like in FF12 by signifying the 13th Unsigned Zodiac with relevance for being an Esper. Could be a GKatana that allows situational Fudo's? or some new hidden WS? Maybe every 12th or 13th WS is given new WS crit modifiers like Sams have been asking for?
More fuel for the fire I guess. So many things revolve around 12, time, biblical, Knights of the round. Why 12...So many things it could be.
Made me think of http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0481369/
that shows only 3 weapons what about the other jobs out there... i know probably just a teaser from ffxi not shocked at that
but really i havent gone out and done tons of empyreans because at 99 i don't see them being the Ultimate weapon of all time and will be new areas / mobs for the lvl 99 levels and drops from them that will have to surpass all current lower level / magian trial weapons ksnm, kcnm bf's maybe or make it so people need to do voidwatch with weapons and armors like ones shown....
i still dont see empyreans being the end all to be all final stage weapons maybe they will do a super mythic, or relic weapon upgrade to force dynamis back on us as its been stated no more abyssea zones so on to the next stage!!!
These are just additional weapons, not "weapon for all jobs" like emp/relic/mythics, there will be just 3. Last time they added a weapon and gave a teaser video of it was a sasanger (sp) and that was the only one.Quote:

The fact that they are revamping dynamis and salvage is proof enough that they want relic and mythic as the best weapons. Those weapons will be like sagasinger, cool looking but useless. Who went kill arch DL ? The previous NMs in voidwatch had not really good items // oneiros gear is more interesting. Worse (or better) some good items can be found at the AH, so why even farm crap there ? The march+3 instrument is apparently quite long to get, why would 18 men go after it when they could do dynamis get a superior item ? A single 6-man team can get 300 coins per run, so if 18 that's 900 per day so ~17 days for relic horn...
