Since Comet is a brand-new spell as well as a dark elemental spell, we decided to increase the damage and magical accuracy a little bit.
Has this been added to the test server yet? I want to try it out.
Also: thank you for hearing our feedback and increasing the effectiveness of comet.
The question is very stupid and you are losing large amounts of credibility for even adding it to your main post.
The reason why the question is so horrible is because Fell Cleave does generate normal enmity to the Warrior, which, in fact, violates your second little clause. It really reeks of troll, but the fact you added to the your list of questions makes me face palm hard.
I probably wouldn't have even bothered responding if it weren't for the fact that I have a feeling SE would answer that stupid question in earnest, completing the troll cycle.
Ok if that is the case I'll remove it. I did not know how FC worked in terms of hate to the war (until that question was asked I just figured it was normal hate gain).
I gave Inafking the benefit of the doubt because he was very insistent about his view (he even asked the devs why his question wasn't answered after camate made his first post here) I took that as a validation that he wanted his question added legitimately and that he wasn't trolling.
Until Inafking (or anyone else) can validate his claim that war do not get hate when they use FC then his question is removed.
While im at it... if anyone else feels a question is incorrectly stated (or that the question is just conpletely incorrect) speak up and I'll take action if I feel your are right. Im very reasonable and I just want to make this an area where the developers can grab questions from with ease.
As much as I really don't wanna get involved in this, I'll post what I've heard on the subject. WARs do get hate when using Fell Cleave, however there is a cap on the number of mobs you can generate hate on. I can only assume this holds true to all sources of AoE damage, but I've not done any testing, nor seen any testing.
This is the first I've ever heard of there being a cap on the # of mobs you can have hate on. I'm inclined to believe this is not true from all my charged whiskering on BLU. I have no problem Cure VIing myself after a CW with 20-30 mobs beating on me. Another example is in Einherjar. I have no problem holding hate over all the mobs while the BLMs AoE nuke them down (as long as my damage exceeds theirs). If their damage exceeds mine then obviously the mobs will attack them instead.
This is probably the case, from my personal experience every other large full mob pull my FC puller will end up with 1-2 mobs hitting him even after 90% of the mobs life is gone from the FC (This happens no matter the style of pull aggro/dia etc). So it's either a glitch that re-occurs an awful lot or when you get big enough pulls there is a cap on the hate generated after so many mobs.
I feel like a moron for asking this, but does Comet utilize dark magic skill or elemental magic skill?
(Kinda had to ask because Noctohelix is dark element but is elemental magic)
Comet utilizes elemental magic skill. (post #78)
Comet made me very happy i worked on Yama's staff +2 all i got to say.
Cannot wait for meteor dying will actually be enjoyable because i know i deserved it.
juxters responce to that question is why i don't oftin post questions here a lot of the times you end up geting one or mor "are you retarded or sum thing for not knowing that?" tipe response or just a know one cares about or bad idear your a noob. so its better just not to post questions lest the leet come down on you.
You shouldn't let the leet ppl scare u away, just be preprepared to defend your point of view/idea/question or be prepared to back it up with knowledgable responses. Even if the leet ppl won't admit it (I'm not calling anyone out specifically lol) we've all been there before so ask away....the only stupid question is the one left unasked :D
....I don't judge people for the questions they ask. If you ask a question on this thread I will do my best to answer it (like I literaly just did with Alhanelem question not to long ago). If it's a question that can't be answered normaly then it's put on the OP for the devs to see.
The Only reason inafking question was removed was because the question itself is based on unclear facts about how Fell Cleave works. Juxters just felt that the question was not a good one (which is fine... it's his opinion).
Don't hold off on posting questions just because your afraid of how the playerbase will act to it because then will never get anything done. Remember there is no such thing as a stupid question.
I can't speak for other posters but I personaly will NEVER judge anyone in this thread for the questions they post. That only serves to hurt this thread.
Also, why is it that 2+2=5? As a scientist I find this insulting. STILL WAITING CAMATE. HEY! HEY! HEYHEYHEYHEYYYYYYYYYY! Hey.
FC does generate enmity, as does every AoE WS. The old saying "look before you leap" can be applied to nearly every situation. Seeing as how this is your third attempt to get a dev response to a "problem" which doesn't actually exist, you have lept 3 times without looking. In this thread alone... dare I examine your posts elsewhere, I fear what I may find lurking in the pits of ignorance.
Edit: I suppose I should also back up my answer. My friend and I duo together frequently. In aby, we have been known to do various kinds of cleave tactics. One of which involved her on war using FC, me on thf using aeolian edge. For the most part, she would constantly have hate on all of the cleave targets. Any targets which evaded her would be on me, however (until she used another fell cleave, anyways). So in short, fell cleave does generate enmity. I have no idea where you got the idea that it doesn't, and the idea that you feel you're entitled to a dev response when you're so misguided is insulting to me.
Seeing as the Ancient Magic II thing has been covered (squeee), there's only two things that immediately come to mind for me:
It'd be great if we could roll our Staves into one. Ow, my inventory.
Also, it'd be great if Tractor sucked less. That is to say, if it didn't reset things such as Allied Tags or Vistant status via some sort of exception made specifically for that spell. I can count the amount of times I've used Tractor on one hand, which is annoying given that there's lots and lots of instances in events like Campaign and Besieged where it would be a fantastic spell.
Ahh sorry, that's what I get for posting when half-asleep. Though, if they do indeed throw our Staves together, that would make Occult Accumen II actually pretty nice, assuming we get a ranged WS to use with it (Myrkr anyone?).
When you use an AoE Weaponskill or spell, there's a limit to how many targets it can generate hate on at once. If you pull more targets than that, just using one fell cleave isn't going to guarantee that you have hate on all of them. The limit is actually fairly low if I'm remembering right, around 15 or 20 mobs.
Fell Cleave can also miss since it's physical, probably been said before.
Didn't know about the multiple mob thing tbh, can't say I've ever tried cleaving more than that many at a time. So yeah if your WAR friend had half the zone on him then it might be an issue, if not I'd say he just missed 1 or 2 mobs and they went for you.
My question has nothing to do with element staffs but trying to figure out how you guys in development team figured you'll give blm mythic staff, elemental staffs, relic staff. In the end give us no proc weapon skill for staff and no cataclysm.
I know its probably a long shot, but will BLM possibly see Ultima 1 day?
Most spells are easily bought on the AH for cheap. I like that not every spell is a hand out. Comet, quake, raise III, these are all spells that require some difficulty to acquire and by getting them you are standing out just a little more than others who dont have them yet. Think of it as an adventure and something to look forward to or accomplish.
I've heard it discussed in another forum that in FF games, if there's a mob called ultima then the spell is not in the game, and vice versa.
