Have had a friend ride the boat for 2 days straight and never saw a sighting. It was so random to whoever saw it, it seems.

SE hinted that the NM would only pop if there were multiple people on the boat a couple of years ago, so if you were alone, it wouldn't be popping.

Never heard of it, what's it do?

Their hint could just as easily meant it depops if left unclaimed. In fact it was seen solo at least once that I know of.
