Doesn't mean there needs to be an in-game easy way to change your name. Those are very special instances. Where I would see no problem with allowing a specific time frame to change your name again. A month tops. There still needs to be heavy restrictions upon it for the previously stated reasons.

Despite the grammar fail that wasn't actually a troll. If You want to know who your dealing with finding out really isn't hard. It's easy to spot an idiot that has changed their name. BTW I like how you continue to cherry pick only arguments that you can counter.

I only want to see this if they allow Tarutaru to put a "-" in their names. It's a pet peeve that you can't name your male Taru like the ones in game.

Not too big on having both name, race, and/or gender changes as that, together with a server transfer = notorious scamming players and jerks hopping around--as it has been done with other MMORPG's (I'm looking at you, WoW!).

However, I do think that race, gender, or appearance change could be an acceptable thing to implement. I understand in an older twitter a while back that there were limitations due to "equipment"? What if you made a disclaimer saying that potential equipment loss may occur if this option was selected? I'm sure some people would not mind losing their RSE set to finally have a difference appearance they desired. While I'm quite happy with my new character (I just made him about 3 months ago)--I would have done anything to change my mithra of 6 years.

I think SE would benefit from the extra money from this service--you'd be amazed how many people would desire this option. Actually, based on the number of threads already in place, it should not be so surprising.

I can definitely see why people disagree with a name change, but I never understood the whole being against gender/race change ordeal. It has occurred in other MMO's as well; is it because that ruins of the RPG-feeling by having your neighbor suddenly look like something else? Perhaps it's something else--but I certainly don't understand it. I'm not against it, as anything to support SE (and hey, it's not like they're charging me anything extra unless I purchased the service) would be seen as a good thing.

I don't think it would be a very good idea to allow race / gender changes in the game.

It's ultimately unnecessary and a gimmick... it would add little value to the gameplay

It really should be easy enough to start a new character these days anyways.. soon you can mail rare/ex gear between the same account so the only hassle you'd have to deal with would be leeching up w/e jobs you want in abyssea then transferring the items.

I can't see them spending a lot of resources on a gimmick like this.. when they are busy working on all the stuff they got planned in the roadmap...


I could see the dev's taking suggestion's for minor things like "yo dev's why can rdm wear a lynx mantle +1 but not a lynx mantle herp"

but a major update like this.. naw

I for one, would welcome a fee based option to change my character name. I'm currently considering a server hop, just to change my name. The only pain is, then I have to wait 90 days to return to the server all my friends are on. Nope.jpg

People willing to spend money on name changes need to have their priorities checked.

If SE were to allow 5$ name changes or whatever, there would be name changes everywhere and all the sense of community would be lost since you'd wouldn't know who's who. No thanks.

I wouldn't mind the idea of being able to change your characters physical features, but the name change sounds like it might actually encourage bad behavior out of anyone who might fear getting a bad reputation, it would be easier for them to do jerk things because they know they at least have one "get of of jail for free" card.
