They did remove the animations for pets, the thing it's that it's removed for others and not you. If you are the master then you can see the full effect, if not then the indication is only visible in the chat log. Which this sucks major for SMN because people can no longer see that you're trying to buff them if they have filters on.
I don't see why they couldn't at least reach a middle ground and create a new simple animation, like gold lines instead. Or use another existing not often used animation in the dats to replace it if they don't want to devote much effort. I can accept the issue with stunning even though it doesn't affect me personally, but it just created other issues in its stead. I hope the development team can come to a compromise and at least replace it with something else for pets.
