"For myself and others if they don't understand as I don't" ATM what I come to realize What does it matter if SE did put the option where a Player could put up their PvP icon. Having a arena based area where people can avoid or go to is commonplace in many mmorpg's check lord of the rings online or d and d online is just 2 examples. Incoperating a zone based PvP area is just that Some place where you could go to PvP with out certain time frames that ballista represents or lame brenner with the postons in the way. Just saying incoperating this idea of a area where it was avoidable or you could enter would open veriety into a more restricted PvP format where I think the colussium would be wonderful for. As for incoperating items for it... Plankerton even has items you get for it sure they fail(they need be fixed also). But giving another way people could get gear is one of the reasons i like FFXI. By no meens should I have to sololy focus on abby for items. Gives another alterantive place to get them just like crafting assults salavage dyna sky limbus etc etc all these events have gear related events so people attend or go to them. Not offering a item that is anyworth meens none will atend i.e plankerton matches(other than taking pictures for zeni monsters). I just offered a way if they did incoperated why people could get more involved and more out of it since events without a goal are non existance ... hence why whould u level your plakerton mob to 50 for ? No use just to be pit champion ? And get nothing .... Just a idea of a reward system to draw players who would be interested into it giving them the option of play. Since I been on this game since 2004 ps2 relase I shouldnt have to play other games to want experiance it since this game already offers it. It just needs to be revamped in my thoughts. Thats just me though.

Take Pankration, throw players into the ring, PVP, done. Give them some Gil for winning or a buff of some sort. Reward, PVP, non-normal game screwing. Everyone wins.

Saying ballista, and Brenner are perfect PvP experiences in today's MMO market is just silly. They are far too restrictive. It shouldn't be a challenge for people to find the spot where the PvP area is. Entrance fee should be gil based only. This idea that people keep tossing around for one central PvP experience whether it is a zone to itself or a coliseum type place inside a major city hub makes perfect sense. No one is being forced to PvP. It doesn't need ridiculous rewards, just something decent. Say a cross between fov rewards/random stuff that drops from chests. Have it str8 up uncapped, no atmas, and a gear swap penalty and your good to go. Very simple, and streamlined which is far more than can be said of the current PvP options.

Everyone and their mother gear swaps. Gear swapping is pretty much the point of PVP; to use your better gear (and skill) to win. If you can't use all your gear then you might as well not go. I for one, would never participate if there was a penalty. Just make the target not change when people gear swap. -

Provided SE could make it so no one blinked when swapping I'd be all for swaps. However if that's not an option it would be exploited by third party programs.

If they're not banning people for flee hacking I doubt they will ban people who you whine about using third party programs in Pvp. Also the situation would be different depending on whether it was just a PvP zone, or whether they went with the "duel" command. At least with the Duel command you could decline to fight some one again who you had previously witnessed cheating.
