Slowwwwww Update

Mine has been hovering between 5 hours and 6 hours. Going back and forth over the last couple hours...

Currently at 20% :(

I guess the silver lining is that the time remaining is not really all that reliable...

I have business class internet and may claim of being able to load and update teh game fresh by now is no exaggeration.

I finished mine in like 5 min guys must have slow internet or something

It has nothing to do with our internet connections. This is the only game / software that I own or have ever owned that downloads files this slow. This has always been a problem with FF XI. You must have gotten the update before everyone started downloading it. I am sitting at 2 hours and 30 mins now and I started the update over an hour ago.

It should not take this long to get a 1 gig update. I download other 1 gig files in minutes.

Yeah, but have you ever tried doing that during a period when there's just been a major patch and everyone is apparently slamming the download server trying to patch?

And the fact that a good portion of players from every server in every country is trying to update at the same time.

These same posts come up every update lol. Nothing new. Guess we all just finding a reason to wait it out.

I don't think it matters when you start. Me and my brother play on 360 and I started my update then went to do his. Somehow mines is taking 5 hours and his update was done in about an hour. I am a little annoyed now since he is not even here. We are both on the same router same internet and everything.

I can download updates on FFXIV every week no issue when there are literally thousands of testers spamming it, much more than FFXI atm, and zero issues. FFXI just crappy patcher.
