Playstation network is multi regional, you will be rerouted to nearest server, so it isnt all hosted in Japan.
Metal Gear Online was also turned off same time as SE but was back online after like 3 days lol (15th) but ofc that game isnt as extensive as FFXI/FFXIV.
1:34pm now.
no news is good news at least there prolly trying to hold out until they know for sure that the rolling blackouts wont hit the servers and risk lossing all of your data :/
The fact that they just got another big quake not even an hour ago can't help...
Well the question that's rolling around in my head is why wouldn't they turn them back on? Rolling blackouts are just that, "rolling." Like a previous poster said, it's really not a big deal for them to plan ahead and just be prepared to shut the servers off for 3 hours a day. Many MMO's have daily maintenance. Also, generators will work, although if they decide to use generators, they may hold off on turning the servers back on until April. That way they can charge us for April and only have to use fuel for 1 month instead of 1 month + 8-9 days. Just to clarify, since people seem confused, the month of March is the "free" month, not April. They charge you at the beginning of the month for the previous month.
Folks.
Either they will put the server up or they won't. No use "contemplating" or trying to "rationalize" their "supposed" thinking. Every single one of you are stabbing in the dark.
That being said, i'll take my stab..... it's already 2:12pm on the 22nd in Japan. No news = servers won't be up. Hopefully they shock me though.
