The more compelling argument could also be made, "get a friend you bridge troll - then you can have both drops cause you're friend will give you the second when you need it". And again, I'd say fair argument - but FFXI is different now, there are a lot of players who spend at least some of their time adventuring alone - and those guys are missing out on more lucrative drops that could spice up the journey..
