Magian 95 weapons

considering you gain less for upgrading a weapon 90 > 95 than you did 85 > 90, yet require 2.5x the items, yes. the reward should be proportionate to the effort required. even if it added 5 attack/Mab/eva it'd be closer to on par. as it is, the other +3's beside the affinity staves arent worth the time/gil of the geodes

Or no because they're still better than most AH/rare/ex options?

i'm going to dissagree with you for bringing AH options into this. quested and ra/ex items should be the best options availble. those RA/ex will only last for a level cap until new better content is released. relic/mythic/emp/magian all fall under the quested title. they require the most effort overall, therefor they should be the strongest option.

And augmented Magian Trials are some of the best options in slots even with their minor upgrade at 95, so what is the problem?

The problem here is that there's not much of a sense of progress on the 90-95 stage. Watching your weapon get "upgraded" and not seeing the main chosen enhancement move at all sucks. it's a shame, because it makes me think the devs already consider the reward for my previous work to be too high. i think the stuff like evade, acc, atk didnt get increases because of how magnified dual wielding would be with the benefits. bothers me because i don't get those benefits since i can't dual wield ranged weapons. same frustration goes for people with 2 handed melee weapons.

zero mab+ on gun means i'm not going to bother anymore. base dmg is not going to be a big difference on QD, and its not worth the price. leaden salute and trueflight gain nothing from the +3. the macc gun i was building has stopped at +10macc because i don't see the point continuing for base dmg on a gun i'd use just to dispel or sleep stuff via QD.

Perspective then, I found it disappointing but the elemental weapons I had were already the best in slot so I had no reason not to make them better no matter how minor it was (aside from light and fire I had plenty of geodes).

Except PDT sword cause I don't melee with that one.

Errrr, you do realise Gun DMG affects QD damage right?
For the last trials going from Mayhem to Mayhem +1 to Mayhem +2, in each case you gained 3DMG on the Gun and 1MaB. Did you realise that the +3DMG actually provided a bigger increase to your QD damage than the 1MaB did? Because it did.

A Macc gun on cor is a waste of time. You wont switch it out for light/dark shot because you'll lose TP, and there's no situation where you should need to fulltime it. I'd put your magian efforts towards the WoE gun. Spam flux 7 now whilst people are still doing it. WoE gun is second best Magian Cor gun after Armageddon. The 10~ Damage you lose on Quick Draw is worth it for access to wildfire.

I look at it like this: We were given a break by having really great stats sooner than later and now the grinding comes into play if you want to max the stats. That logic doesn't really work for relics or mythics but well those damn things should have been more powerful from the start, even when their age was still new. Their grinding has been cut considerably anyways in the trials.

So really it's just a matter of perspective. You got a weapon. It's best stats that will define the weapon is going to be the final trial you go through. How you get there doesn't really matter, whether the base weapon is the best thing since slice bread or not. Whether you grind from the start or near the end. It just doesn't matter. We should play judge after it's said and done with. No sooner. What you consider unfair might be made right in the next update or three.

This goes without saying but things could have progressed a lot slower than they did. I for one welcome getting nice things early on(so long as you look past all the minor grinding you did to get to the 'nice things' stage.)I suppose there had to be nice things to motivate players to do them, but I never once expected the stat boosts to hold up forever.

I think the +3 upgrades should have been another 15 geodes. No more than 20. 40 is just excessive for how little the weapons are boosted.

And, if you value your sanity don't go out with the intent to farm geodes. With almost constant weather and a THF helping for a bit, I got 3 in a couple hours. With just day none for the whole game day. I actually have slightly better luck with WoE coins than geodes. Only problem with that is, a WoE weapon doesn't help my pet's PDT or help my own evasion.
