i´m having the same error.
every time i try to transfer my playonline id to the square enix account i get the same error message.
funny thing about is, i have 1 main char and 2 mules, the 2nd. mule i created was about 6 month ago!
i didn´t change anything in july on my account until i canceled my old playonlie account to start the transfer to the square enix account!

Why would you put this kind of transfer process in place, ask members to use it, then when members use it, have it fail requiring emergency maintenance, and wait until next month to complete the process?? The requirement for emergency maintenance has almost become common-place with SE. And, your system security routines come into question as well. Password changes, for one, cause more problems.I just went thru a password change caused by your techs (they gave me a new password and told me to change it to what I want as soon as possible. Did so, and now I can logon to SE Account Management but not the game using the same new data. I wonder if my account has been hacked, AGAIN.
If you are referring to the Registration Server Maintenance, it happened every month, and the issue wherein you are unable to complete the transfer process is likely not due to only that, because then everyone would have to wait.
The account changes and the billing that has been going on related to the announced changes are likely tied to the RSM, and thus you need to wait until it is done.
Just wanted to point out that it is a regular, monthly maintenance. ^^;

I don't understand step 2 i follow it but no goo and i done with register+ transfer but i am stuck with playonline vierwer saying wrong id or passcode /sight

I would assume you will need to wait until the Registration Server Maintenance is fully completed, if I understood your problem right.

I'm thinking it is the first time you have actually registered a Square Enix Account?
If so, make sure you have selected it to be used when logging in to PlayOnline (look into the account options in POL Viewer).
If it's not that, then please, do reply so I/we can better assist. ^^
I am also having the same problem, SE even deactivated my Content ID, so i cannot even log into on of my characters because it says i have to transfer over.
