I was watching the cutscene for Wings of the Goddess mission Purple, the new Black pt 1 and right when the demon shots a civilian with a fire spell it went pitch black and I was unable to play the game afterwards. I reloaded and tried it again and same thing, then I went onto my pc version and was able to watch the whole cutscene with no problems.
That issue has been around for years and they know about it but refuse to do anything about it or even talk about it. SE will just tell you to check files or reload game.

Essentially, until they bother to patch the game for that issue, you have to go through the CS on an Xbox 360 or PC, and then switch back to the PS2 afterwards. Certain CS lock up on certain consoles and only SE can patch them, if they decide to.
Ya I'm now watching most of my cs's on my comp because everytime I try a new cs for wotg only on my ps2/3 it gets black screened froze at some point. Please fix this, and while your at it make a ps3 version of the game, its on the xbox its not hard to port a ps2 game ported to the xbox to the ps3.
I'm playing on a PS2, and having similar cut scene issues. Currently I'm on the last cut scene for Wings of the Goddess quest "Bonds that never Die". Clicking on NPC Rongelouts N Distaud gives part of the cut scene, but before it finishes my screen goes to insta-black with no warning, and I'm booted from the game. This has happened repeatedly, and I can not make any more progress in the story line with my friends due to this glitch. It'd be a reassuring sight to see the FFXI techs/devs acknowledge this issue that multiple PS2 users are having with NPCs. Please help us.
