Make it so that players currently engaging a Voidwatcher will sporadically phase in and out of the regular Vana'diel plane and become visible to other players but only for an extremely short amount of time (like 1-2 seconds).
A player walking by would be like "what the hell was that? Am I seeing things?"
I feel it would add a lot of flavor and immersion to the game.

While aesthetically pleasing, the coding overhead to just deal with the faded-out visuals (let alone any gearswaps or positioning the Voidwatchers are doing) would be prohibitive. Plus, it may blow a whole lot of lower end PC video cards off the compatible list.
It's a neat idea, but if SE's gonna burn coding hours like that? There's plenty of more basic code for them to do.
