What Is the Point of the Official Forums If Feedback Is Ignored?

I understand Square Enix cannot respond to every post or implement every suggestion.

But it is discouraging to see so many thoughtful job forum posts about balance, inventory, job identity, and modern content receive little to no acknowledgment.

Players are still paying monthly, and most of us are giving feedback because we care about FFXI. Even a simple “we have passed this along” from the community team would go a long way.

Right now, the silence makes the forums feel less like a bridge between players and the dev team, and more like a place where concerns disappear.

We are not asking for instant fixes. We are asking to know the feedback is being seen.

The point is it's not just a platform for feedback.... it's a place to chat and discuss the game and other things with members of the community.

FFXIV is a good example of why that argument does not really hold up. A community space can absolutely be used for general discussion while still being a valuable platform for player feedback. Those two purposes are not mutually exclusive.

Players discussing repeated problems, sharing experiences, and debating possible solutions is part of how useful feedback develops. Dismissing criticism because the space is also meant for casual conversation just avoids engaging with the actual issue.
