Skill Chain Failures and how to Cope

Hello Everyone!

I'm struggling to figure out an issue I'm having with skill chains.

In this example, I have Ayame using Tachi: Gekko - with no skills before or after her from the party. Lets assume a party of two players.

Then, After the log message reads "Ayame uses Tachi: Gekko" and the damage is listed, I use my skill, Blade: Ten.

One time, this did darkness as a chain.
Every other time since? No skill chain. I'm not sure why. Ive varied the timing, by waiting a few seconds and still nothing. What am I misunderstanding about how to execute skill chains?

I Tried to do an impact skill chain as well with blade: Jin but that also didnt work. Its so hit or miss sometimes that I just end up confused lol.

Ayame is really good for a skillchain partner / coordinator based on the last weapon skill you used, and will always save TP until you have enough to weapon skill for her to open for you. It shouldn't be a problem unless she Tachi whiffs lol... But it shouldn't be any problem in closing skillchains with the timing unless she missed or someone or a different trusts botched up the skillchain. But yeah Ayame will always open with the appropriate weapon skill from your last WS to open whichever chain is best

It could be that you're using your weaponskill too quickly. It takes a bit to get a feel for the right timing.

Wait a couple seconds between ayame WS and your WS. Usually happens whenever youre too trigger happy. It happens though!

Magic bursts on the other hand, have a fairly short window and can be triggered the moment an action that will create a skillchain occurs. (With very quick spells you can actually magic burst a skillchain twice though!)

It's definitely possible, I do it with diabolos all time (blood pacts are definitely fast enough). If you time it right you can probably do it with tier 2 magic or tier 3 with enough fast cast. (of course the first spell could be anything if you time it to land right as the weaponskill lands for the SC)

I miss MB method. melee just too fast compared to it. :(
We'd get 2 MBs in, then the skillchain is extended, another MB, another extention, and 2 more MBs. rince repeat.

Also making Ongo completely immune to melee DMG kinda killed the extentions since COR & RUN can't easily get TP.
