I"m just returning after a few years off from the game and am loving the changes. I'm still trying to get started but was curious about getting a relic or upgrading my Empyrean weapons. Everything I've found on the forms says that it isn't worth it anymore to do them, but those were posts back a year or two. So are they now actually worth the grind? It seems that the weapon I picked up with my new Sparks is still more powerful than an upgraded weapon.
REM are some of the most powerful and worth getting if you're going to make them into their new final version, yes.
I think he's specifically talking about Relic and Empyrean weapons. The answer to that is it depends. The afterglow upgrade really brought a lot of the Relics and Empyreans back so you should check to see how your favorite weapon compares now. Based on your profile, yes Ragnarok is a beast again.
Actually I was thinking of doing NIN or SAM Relic. I enjoy doing Dynamis and have been going back and forth between the two. I"m on NIN and use that more but I love SAM and it's always been a dream of mine since I first started FFXI when it came out. I have both SAM and NIN Empyreans at lvl 80 as well. So I keep going back and forth between the four on which one I should take the time to do.
