Bring it back after Abyssea

Before I leave my Suggestion, here is some feedback from me with the recent months.

Background of Me/Topic

I left the game after Abyssea's final chapter release as I saw many of the things my linkshell did became obsolete. Also as a multiple job user I felt overwhelmed on trying to obtain many of my jobs items needed for artifact upgrades. I was content with the standing of my jobs prior to the level increase and new Artifact gear release. I suddenly felt after the change I hadn't really gotten anywhere in my achievements. Older content vanished, and seemed to just take up room in both memories and meaning. I missed the familiar and yet periodic challenges that Low man Sea and King NMs did for me. Atma's and the Brews, the massive slaughterhouse in gifted power just took lots of fun out of the game for me.

However as much as I say to others that I've quit FFXI, I can't stop thinking of the fun times and the memories shared with people who played the game. This game is the reason I was up until 3AM on some school nights back in the days and sleeping through my English and Social Studies. I'm proud to say I'm happy with that on some level. Its like taking pride in a hobby and giving it meaning. Nothing can truly explain it and nothing anyone else can say will make you think twice about it.

I'm proud to say that I am looking to continue my adventures in Vana'Diel once again. Especially after the recent release of these forums, the twitter feeds, the near weekly little blurbs from the Dev team about what they are thinking about doing next has made the game glow in my eyes once again. I want to say thank you for your support for the gaming community and the recent close invitation to behind the desk. You'd turned the players from customers and fans, into family. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we are thankful for that. Keep up the good work.

Lets not Slow down, Lets step it up: Bring it back but keep what we got

The recent Dev teams talk of bringing in Synergy as a form of upgrading armor to near levels of AF3 has perked my interests and even helped bring about my return. Finally those overwhelming number of jobs I leveled and could not get the seals for due to high demand or my now mini sized Linkshell groups to help me(I don't like Pick ups, got burned a lot) have a chance to shine once again. I didn't want to ever consider giving up my Byakko Pants and now it looks like I don't have to on some of my jobs.

I figure why stop here. The community team I'm sure has heard lots of complaints about the loss of older content like Sky Gods and Sea Gods being no longer being of use. Why not revive that, this synergy system in the works for it is a great start. But Its also the challenge of the fights I liked. Like the near ultimate wipe in my old linkshell that got me my Byakko Pants made me cherish them so dearly.

My idea and I hope to get some backing up by others and maybe more ideas is to revamp all the older content, to make the expansions mean something both as a whole(My Idea) to the game and as stand alone(Synergy Upgrade). We gain these Kindred Crests, Seals in Abyssea. Why not bring back the need for big linkshells again for the older fights we use to do. Make Sky and Sea challanging and require 18 well skilled and geared people. Trade the Pop set for these God NMs with an additional item or maybe a number of these abundant seals and crests we are getting to fight more challenging forms of the monsters, ones that need 18 people again. Which in then could yield better drops or even HQ of the notorious items from yesterdays. Byakko Haidate+1 with a level requirement of 90 or more comes to mind. Kirin's Osode+1 with triple the Stats on them or other better additions like Haste and Attack. Maybe even brand new Item drops that would be on level with some Artifact 3 gear but for more then one job like sky and sea gear was like.

Basically my idea is to bring back the old content not just with synergy but with a fresh vibrant coat of paint. Give incentive to some who don't have all the Artifact gear from Abyssea or have even an interest in Abyssea at all. Give them another form with the hard work they have done or are use to doing to become content with the achievements they striven to obtain these many years since the servers went up.

It would also let people not be so cookie cutter in skills and looks for once since abyssea came out. All Blms in brown and black coats, pfff I want mine to be pink :p

Very nice suggestion, but this is the section for suggestions and issues with the website, not the game. Suggestions for the game belong in general discussion or the specific subsection (e.g. job forum, quests, etc) that it pertains to.
