We need a VW vendor!

I'm sure this was suggested a million times in the past, but the scarcity of VW on a sparsely populated server makes the acquisition of 119 empyrean weapons virtually impossible. (Search Asura for riftcinders - there isnt a single one on the entire server!)

SE needs to implement some sort of VW NPC that will sell you VW items for cruor, after obtaining that particular mobs KI. I mean damn they did it with Adoulin and plasm, why not make cruor relevant again?

1 Heavy Metal Plate = 10,000 cruor
1 Riftcinder = 200,000 cruor

and of course all the other items available also...

Farming will still be challenging and will create a whole new aspect to FFXI in game economy.

Thoughts...?

you can farm over 400,000 cruor in an hour if you have a dedicated group doing it.. it's not challenging or fun

you're basically suggesting an alliance be able to finish cinder stage in 2 hours(for reference, 18 people doing morta, which is much more difficult than cruor farming.. would take 5-7 hours and use 45 days of cooldowns for each person)

won't ever happen, the only RME material that can be farmed without cooldown atm is H-P Bayld and the amount required makes it pretty clear what the conversion rate would have to look like for them to add a no-cooldown method to others

Not virtually impossible, by a long shot. Yes plates are easy to get, people love qilin and uptala, and with so many people spamming T3s they can usually sell them to you quick for a small discount off market price. I had some trouble finishing Cinder stage recently, There aren't Morta shouts. You have to make your own. Find a PLD willing to pop/hold adds and get to shouting it doesn't take that long at all. Having these items be obtained through cruor would be a joke and devalue everyones hard work. I do agree they need to do something to help people get more interested in doing these monsters that drop cinders and dross for the sake of having some available. I suggested for Empy reforge armor they make Belladona Sap(Morta Mat) and Sealord skin(Bismarck Mat) requirements and I still stand by it, would make the most sense.

The amount of cruor required can be adjusted to scale with the difficulty SE desires. Im not trying to circumvent difficulty of the task, im trying to suggest something to adress the lack of shouts. Come to Asura there are NEVER morta,botulus,alima shouts. Im just suggesting an alternate means of obtaining the items, since this portion of the game is virtually inaccessible atm due to population

10k plates and 200k cinders were just an example.... maybe the appropriate amount is 2m cruour per cinder... I just want an alternate method of obtaining the items

They couldn't do this, There are some people with hundreds of million cruor, this is why they removed almost all forms of Cruor>Gil conversions. I can assure you Asura has a much higher population than Cerb, Were lucky to hit 400-500 NA primetime, and it's still half AFK/bots. I said it was difficult, REMs should be difficult. There are never any Morta shouts because you don't start them yourself. I had to shout for hours to fill groups at times, sometimes I'd shout for 1-2 hours to only end up disbanding due to lack of people online/interest. You should find a good time available to you when the population is rather high and make runs of 6x3 6x4 not just 6x1. Don't bring people unwilling to participate for the full duration of the event. There are tons of people out there willing to do Morta due to Empy upgrade, or money selling cinders/dross. Maybe try posting on here/ffxiah looking for people with a interest in doing morta and plan times. If you aren't even putting in the effort to make a group to do then you shouldn't complain.

I do think SE should address the interest appeal in these VW, making Morta / Bismarck materials used in Empy reforge armor could do this. Maybe they will do something in the future. You could try starting a rumor saying your cousin works for SE and has confirmed Belladonna Sap / Sealord skin will be required for Empy reforge everyone remembers how Kaggen/Pil/Akvan price mats skyrocketed.

That's not true, I usualy shout for Morta and every other Wed and Sat, and get enough to do the event. Just these last few weeks with all the Special SE events going on I haven't done so.

Makes the most sense unless they plan to add VW into Adoulin areas, which might not be bad. Maybe in the future they'll introduce a high level Unity Wanted NM that drops but even that would be a bit easy imo, considering how many people are currently botting to obtain Unity points.

If you start shouting for them, do it at the same time daily. There is a Japanese player that does this every day (usually multiple times a day) for VW and he fills up at a decent pace because people who are interested know when to expect it.

Advice for voidwatch, just shout often. If you put together successful runs people who have run with you before will join faster. I often ignore most shouts but if I see someone who has put together good runs before I will join up a lot faster. FYI I love VW and will BLU for it on Asura anytime I'm not already doing something groupwise. It's a nice relaxing event.

My only beef is they need to upgrade the item drops because the trouble with morta etc is it's a much more annoying mob and the actual payoff is often lower than say a Jeuno T3 since they drop single plates and upgrade mats. With Morta if you don't get a cinder you pretty much feel like you wasted your time.

The potential payoff is bigger but it's way less consistent. Also I still want Akvan's body (I don't care if it's not worthwhile it's an obsession now) while there is nothing I want off Morta other than money.

would be nice if they added 118 versions (+1) of VW gear to mob's loot pools. That would spark interest too. They could just dump statvomit on the existing pieces. Could also add a method to upgrade existing and +1 pieces with mirrors, petrifacts and other under-utilized materials. That would also make it seem more worthwhile to do these things since the mirrors can be sold and stuff. Currently I just throw them out because I can't even mule the damn things.

Frankly we could use some more AHable 118 etc gear, there really isn't a lot and the economy is just the pits for anything but selling upgrade currencies of various kinds.
