Qiqirn trials.

I'm working on a chain of magian trials for great katana. There aren't any weather or day requirements for any of these, so I usually like to log in at some random time and kill 50 monsters in a day. Keeps me sane because I can break the big task (a series of trials that involve killing a total of about 6500 monsters) into several small tasks that I can complete over the course of months.

Anyway, the current trial says "kill 600 demon types". That's kinda cool because Samurai are so well geared to killing demons. Been trotting around in Zvahl Baileys killing demons in the low to mid 50s (the demons that are one tier below the coffer key dropping demons are still EP and die pretty quickly) and ahriman (for their lenses which I turn into prism powder for gil).

I digress. The next trial says "kill 450 qiqirn". I've seen plenty of qiqirn NPCs, and I've even seen a few targetable qiqirn in Alzadaal, Caedarva, and Aydeewa. But those always seem so sparse. Where can I find the best concentration of qiqirn?

There's a bunch of those little dudes in Aydeewa, and there's also a few that spawn in Caedarva around the graves during the day if you'd rather not go spelunking. Have fun!

I remember the ones in Aydeewa. I used the ranger ones to skill up dark magic a while ago. But I can't remember what entrance that was. Any clue? Aydeewa has like 15 entrances.

I can't remember exactly. :x

I had to do this crap on White Mage forever and a half ago. I did Aydeewa.

Despite the somewhat sparse population down there I think you'll find the biggest bottleneck will be that the little rats run away, making it one of the most annoying trials in the game. Have a way to Bind or Gravity them to speed things up.

And be sure to have a bit of room for synth materials, the almonds you'll get are fairly valuable since they're used in some crafter's food.

The rooms just outside of the Nyzul isle staging point have a bunch. I used to solo the RNG ones on BLM cause they never come up to melee. There's like three in each room and they spawn fairly fast (~5mins I believe).

I just got started on this one today. The tendency of the qiqirn to run away was worse than I thought. I knew they ran away, but not that they did it this much. It makes it very difficult to melee, and virtually impossible to weapon skill. So I tried in Aydeewa but gave up after two kills. Then I went to Caedarva. Harder to get around and like you said they only spawn during the day, but I guess it's my best option.

Still not the worst trial I've ever done though. Some of the BLM elemental staves are much worse. Like kill magic pots with earth magic or kill evil weapons with fire magic.
