For some reason her install seems to lock on file 79.DAT at 27% everytime and wont seem to budge, has anyone else come across this issue or.. have a resolution for it?

If this is on PC, you could copy your install from your PC to your wife's PC. Just override anything it as you to. You could also try to run a file check on the install. The only other option is to reinstall the game...
