Final Fantasy XI Drive Transfer on Windows 8?

Hei, I am a returning player and have recently purchased a new computer that came with Windows 8. I have managed to install the game however to do so I had to install it on Drive C which is a solid state drive and smaller than drive D by quite a margin. Installing the game and all its updates has taken up most of the room on drive C leaving me with 9gb of space.

When I tried installing the game on Drive D the play online viewer refused to restart after update no matter what I did. The bar for drive C is already read and I know that Final Fantasy often has updates. I would be much happier having it on drive D. Does anyone know a way to transfer the game to drive D without my having to re-install everything?

Here's some more information that may or may not help.

I am running an Acer Aspire V3 laptop, with windows 8 64 bit. I bought the game through steam (though I have an older copy on disk)

Please ask if you need to know anything else. I would really like to find a way to do this if its possible.
