Yes, it does. At least, mine worked before all the problems in the thread I just posted happened.
The actual overlay shouldn't work, methinks. The game certainly does not integrate with Steam, at all. I'm quite truly positive about that.
You can still use all the Steam functions of course if you are playing in the windowed-mode.

As was mentioned before me, it may work after all. ^^;
I still never tried it myself, but I've seen a live-stream where someone seemed to do just that. I still have my doubts on it working with full-screen mode, though.
