I just saw the roadmap for 2012, and I needed a mop to clear the drool off my desk. However, when I logged in, it looks like none of the UI updating is done? Or do I have the wrong client or something?

The UI updates are being implemented in phases. Font smoothing options and additional visible options for background resolution have already been implemented.
Due to the nature of UI adjustments, these will not likely appear on the test server. They'll just be a pleasant surprise. :) -

Sorry to keep everyone waiting. Implementation of the new UI onto the Test Server is progressing slower than planned. While it will be a bit longer before you can use the new icons in conjunction with the system we are planning, in the upcoming version update we will be implementing a feature that will allow you to toggle between the new icons and old icons in the config.
Once there are more developments with the new UI we will be sure to pass along the information. -
