Yep. I'm having the same issues. I can't tell you how many screens I've taken, but I just can't find them anywhere!
screenshots when taken get saved to play online not to steam.
X:\Steam\steamapps\common\ffxi\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer\pub\home01\open\ScreenShots\FinalFantasyXI
Where X:\Steam is your location to the Steam folder. It may be in home00 or home02, etc., possibly depending on character, but not sure.
