FFXI 14 Day Free Trial: Complete Setup Walkthrough

Recently I found out that the FFXI free trial is still available. And so I went and tried to make one for fun. But when I did I found out the process is significantly more tricky and complicated than you would hope. It took me some searching and trial and error, and all I could think was "there's no way a new player will want to go through all this". Googling around I also didn't see any guides to start a trial.

So since I was already going to be reinstalling my game anyway I decided to take the opportunity to go all out and make a full video guide for setting up your game and 14 day free trial. It covers every step from registering accounts, to checking e-mail, to installing the game.

*If you run a web browser with software like AdBlock and NoScript turn them off or allow all sites for setting up before you begin to fill out info. Otherwise you may refresh your page and lose time or have errors*

So if you're a new player, or returning and starting over, or someone with a friend who wants to try the game, this might be the way to go. I assume that after the trial ends if you purchase the game you can then get the 30 day free period as well, for a total of 44 free days of gameplay.
