Cannot start the quest "The Truth Lies Hid"

1st cutscene to start the quest works fine, but as the scene fades to black, game crashes and basically "Blackscreens"... after forcefully shutting down my playstation2 and logging back in, I try starting it again, only to give me the same outcome 4 times again.
