To fix this game...

I rarely post on this site, for reasons i'm not going to disclose. SE, you won't respond to this post, because it would require an actual answer, and you'd rather talk about cheese sandwiches. My hope is that there are more players who share my ideals and my thoughts, and through propagation, we can maybe see something done.

I ask you a calm question - What is your problem, developers?

To begin, let's examine the most recent nerf to Victory Smite and Ukko's Fury. Please also note that i am not "qqing" and if you check my ffxiah page (Yes gimps, theres a website that keeps track of player achievements and no, full perle bst is not an achievement), you'll see i do not have a Ukon or a Vere. That being said, i can say, from an honest, unbiased, and completely neutrally stand point, this nerf is idiocy.

Here's why. Square Enix, after realizing that the new merit able weapon skills are junk, have decided with whole hearted goodness to nerf the competing weapon skills, hand-to-hand and great axe respectively, so that any random full perle war can now compete and "join in the fun". This is probably due in part to them trying to keep people subscribed to ffxi just a little bit longer to keep the player base active to help pay for 14, or it could be to shut up the "i only play for 1 hour a day" motif alive and well.

Let's look at Tachi: Shoha. I could care less it competes with Fudo. It should at least do decent damage - so those people who don't have time to make an empyrean can do some better numbers. Should it beat Fudo? Absolutely not. Should it beat Kaiten? Absolutely not.

At least Tanaka got it right to nerf the sword and katana to levels comparable to asuran fists. (That means its useless). Those who brag about this WS obviously never used it on anything worthwhile, as any PLD knows KoTR or CDC is better. Same goes for BLU, and i guess rdm, but here's the random lolmeleeRDM comment.

The point is - Meritable WS's, that take literally, half a day to complete to maximum, should not overtake Empyrean and Relic. Hell, Empyrean shouldn't even overtake relic, and i'm not even going to mention mythic here. (Because, what, 60 burtgangs made, and 6 of everything else? Oh and, i mean, didn't they already screw over atonement??).

*catches my breathe* I hate ranting.

You clearly want people to make relics. That's clear and evident by the depreciated currency prices, and the allowance of a full perle bst to run around and collect 200 pieces a day. But who the hell wants to spend months working on it, when they could just go merit a weapon skill and be just as good if not better.

See the pattern here? See what i'm getting at perhaps?
Let me make everything i just said above, one more simplified sentence.

Merit able weapon skills suck, whoever developed them needs to be fired, and nerfing weapon skills that took hard work, commitment, and dedication to create, is not the way to make them desirable.

Whoever gave chainspell meteor to botulus rex, that's fucking cool. Thanks for making me giggle really REALLY hard when i saw it.
