FFXI Myth Busting Request! New mob drops

Hello!
First off- I'd like to say I think the dev team is doing an excellent job with the recent updates.

This isn't really a complaint, but more of a "I can't prove this" so I'd like some insight into it-

With areas like Dangruf Wadi and Inner/Outer Horutoto Ruins getting 90+ mobs, one would expect new/different drops from their lower level counterparts in those zones.

Not that you typically fight these normal high level mobs for drops, but often when skilling up or leveling up I try to do it in an area where I can at least get some crafting materials, or common scrolls from the regular mobs.

A friend and I decided to try to duo as level 95 thieves in Dangruf Wadi, taking on the higher level goblins there, and found that we didn't get many items at all, and when we did, we got some random level 10 gear from a level 90+ mob.

So my question is: is it just a myth that the new mobs don't carry any different goodies from their low level friends, or do we just have bad luck!
