Noob ranger. Having fun so far - Archery / Marks is sitting around 240 each. Everywhere I go is either extremely slow (having to run away every time a worm decides to -ga me). Every mob I can get reasonable skillups on (0.4-0.5's) can kill me fast if I am in lazy skill-up mode.
Ideas?
low delay xbow/bow, sleep arrows/bloody bolts, abyss uleg. that should serve well for your purposes.
alternatively, try fortalice in castle zvahl S. they cap arround 330/370?

Get yourself a Loxley bow, which is the lowest delay for archer PLUS it has a bonus for accuracy, which is handy when skilling up, and spam sleep arrows at worms in Aby Ule while using skillup food. It's a pretty easy RaEx bow to get that drops from a mid level NM in Quicksand Caves.
For marksmanship, get a repeating crossbow (<100K on AH) and do the same using sleep bolts. You'll get great skillups with very low risk.
fluid crossbow is another option, not as good but it's free from abyss
Ah right cheers. Thought fortalices capped around 250 but I guess I am wrong. At the moment I am using a Repeater Crossbow & Lamian Kaman but will go pick up the ones you suggested.

The fortalices will cap at whatever skill level applies for a level 82 character. For ranger, that means 306 for archery and marksmanship. Lamian Kaman is the best AH bow you can get for low delay but the Loxley is quite a bit faster. The time it takes to camp one will probably pay off in net overall time to cap your skill.
loxely is fun to claim stuff with. lower delay than most daggers, you can almost outclaim someone at range with it vs a JA (with a shorter range)

Skill ups started to slow down on fortilaces once I hit about 260 - which sounds like 306 is more like the cap. Ended up using Lamain til 300. Will finish it off when I am EXP'ing I think.
The worms worked great post-260. Skillups were too slow on them before that though (maybe I am just picky). I tried this before I even asked on these forums however I wasn't getting any skillups at all under 260 - even with consistent hits.
Anyways cheers guys. Think I will camp the loxley just so I have a nice bow to pull with if it is ever needed.
