Any chance we could increase the overall limit to combat and magic skill merits? There is no game balance issues if you allowed a person to merit more combat skills, so long as you leave the 8 merit cap in place on the individual skills.
If SE sincerely wishes to force people to specialize in certain jobs, then fine... leave things as they are... but honestly I have several jobs which I truly love and hate having to favor only a 2 of them with capped combat skill merits. (same goes for mage jobs).

I feel that 8 merits per combat skill is no longer enough, we had that at 75 and now we're at 90 I belive the limit to single skills should be increased to at least 12 for combat, 6 for defensive and please, please SE remove the cap limit on combat/magic of 16 and 20 max, when you have multiple jobs its a nightmare having to choose 1-2 of them to max out

The maximum of 8/4 per respective skill is okay with me, but I agree with this post other than that. Who only has 1-2 jobs at 90? I'm a pretty casual player and I only have 4 jobs at 90, but it's still extremely frustrating trying to decide where to place merits because I like all 4 of my jobs so much. They need to increase the limit by twice as much, if not more.

I'm sure once we hit 99 (I'm projecting by end of Summer '11), SE will implement something to further our jobs with all these merits that we're getting, probably on a much grander scale. (Older players: Remember how much of a b*tch it was to get 10 merits exp'ing the traditional way?) I'm guessing that we might have categories that would require like 20 merits for one level in a category eventually.
