Rala waterways Skirmish area, perfect dungeon for this.

Primary Goal: Merits (For HTBF), Job Points (to get master, to unlock REMA clears), Mlevel. (1 to 6 players, small 1% bonus for more players to encourage grouping). Entry once per 24 hour period, 1 hour entry allowance (maybe increased under certain circumstances).

First open area 5 Apex crabs.

NPC just past these 5 Apex Crabs that counts kills on the crabs, once you have 5 cleared you can get a 15% bonus buff it applies to XP and move to next open area.

Second open area, 5 Apex Raptors.

NPC just past these 5 Apex Raptors that counts kills on the Raptors, once you have 5 cleared you can get a +15% (total 30% now) bonus to XP.

Third area, 5 Apex Bats.

NPC just past these 5 Apex Bats that counts kills on the bats, once you have 5 cleared you can get a +20% (total +50% now) bonus to XP for the run.

Now another open area and an NPC before it, you can talk to it and either spawn 10-15 gold apex crabs to kill with the 50% bonus or a delve boss that gives a chunk of XP and a possible gear drop.

Could also add rare NM spawns in the previous open areas (outside of the 5 needed so you can ignore if you want).

Benefits: Feeling of progression as you kill that is missing from normal apex killing, feeling of "clearing the zone" with a goal to the killing to get to the end, a daily event that you can do specifically to work on progression for casual and hardcore players.

Gear that drops from any NM here and/or abyssea style atmas that boost performance, only give boosts in this area alone. This makes sure it does not hurt gear power / progression anywhere else, and gives more freedom.

I find it hard to engage with Mlev grinds these days, having it setup in the way I suggested would make it feel more rewarding and purposeful. Gear drops can be more powerful and inventive, cause they are limited to this specific content.

A lot of casual players drop out of the Mlev grind, cause it's too long winded and mindless. If there was content that was engaging and limited to a specific time limit per day, they would keep progressing with it.

NEW NM system

I think this system is good:

Positives:
It gives all players something to do, that is low stakes (this is very important, a lot of players simply had nothing to do outside of big events).
The key system was really cool.
It drives a lot of interest in the community, to find the NM, to figure out what drops what, to argue about the stats etc
It allows player interaction, grouping up for these is a good thing even if it's just random chitchat while camping.
I like that the lower NM are timed, and the higher ones are lottery.

I hope you add more NM like this (even to Escha, Reisenjima etc), even to other areas. Things like earrings, neck pieces etc, other armor sets

Negatives:
There is no current word on the augment system, there really does need to be (even if just a teaser). Especially if this idea was dropped, cause a lot of people camped them specifically because of that, so they will be very annoyed if it's not happening.
They look the same as older gear, not even a recolor. This reduces the excitement of it, cause you've seen your character wearing it before.

I hope we can use different colors of this armor when we augment it, this would be very important (maybe with aptants). The other color variants already exist, red / black / white variants are already there.

I hope the augment system requires drops, that also come from the same NM and work like dark matter (but with different augments, based on the type of gear). That way the small community interaction aspect continues, and newer players can still get help to camp/kill them. Some randomness in min/max stats (and maybe some rare stats, like refresh 2 on escha gear) makes sure everyone doesn't just cap them in a week and never goes near them again.

I think it needs to be kept in mind that corsair and ranger are often used as a melee job now, with savage blade. So those jobs should probably be added to Olorun.
