SE has stated that they're not gonna lower the costs for the acquisition of items towards Mythic Weapons...but how about a way to speed up the process?

Not saying that any of the following will be implemented, but hopefully I've taken as much of a reasonable approach to this as possible. Without touching the first and 4th quests, here's a step-by-step blueprint of a "faster" mythic weapon:

Balrahn's Eyepatch:

Cost: 100k Therion Ichor

Two suggestions, starting with the most likely:

1) Shorten the waiting period to enter Einherjar to Japanese Midnight (at minimum)

It happened to Dynamis last month, so I personally can't see why it wouldn't happen to Einherjar. Without making adjustments to the amount of Ichor obtained, players can freely enter the chambers to farm the mobs for ichor or simply build pops for Odin for his drops. If anything, people might join just to be able to unlock Atma of the Einherjar for their abyssea adventures.

2) Boost amount of Therion Ichor obtained in Einherjar.

So we may still have to wait 72 hours to be able to enter Einherjar? Heh, might as well raise the Ichor gains by perhaps 1.5x on the non-Odin chambers and perhaps double the Ichor from successfully defeating Odin himself. This will require less time spent in Einherjar, but will still take you a bit of time to get that needed 100k while you scramble for alexandrite and nyzul tokens.

Wyrmseeker Areuhat:

Cost: 150k Nyzul Tokens

Only one real suggestion comes to mind, and I think it might encourage players to revisit Aht Urghan (even if temporary)

Increase Nyzul Tokens in proportion to your Assault Rank.

You're gonna need Captain rank just to start your Mythic Weapon quests, so why not add an incentive to get there? Here's an example of how your rank can increase your income of Nyzul tokens:

PSC: 1.0x
PFC: 1.1x
SP: 1.2x
LC: 1.3x
C: 1.4x
S: 1.5x
SM: 1.6x
CS: 1.7x
SL: 1.8x
FL: 1.9x
Captain: 2.0x

Those just starting out will recieve normal amounts of Nyzul Tokens, but as you advance you start to notice an increase to your tokens. This can encourage players to revisit Nyzul Isle and help other people get their vigil weapons and armor drops in addition to possible new items that SE may add in (they DID say they were adjusting Nyzul >_> )

30k Alexandrite

Cost: See the big red caption above :P

Like I did for Einherjar suggestions, I'll start with the most likely and try to work my way down:

1) Allow all enemies to drop Alexandrite.

In its present state, only Archaiac mobs drop Alexandrite in Salvage and not in great quantities which deters many players from finishing their weapons. I'm thinking that all enemies should have a chance to drop Alexandrite w/ normal mobs having a low chance to drop Cotton Pouches and all nms (not just the bosses) a chance to drop Linen Pouches.

2) Implement a "Stagger !!" system to Salvage/Redistribute enemy placement.

SE had said they would rejuvenate Salvage, and !! seems to be their favorite concept since June last year. Players may not like this system, but I think we are all capable of figuring stuff out ^^

Keep standard Salvage NMs the way they are in terms of drops, and with redistributed mobs players may have to relearn the paths in Salvage in order to go for wins (also needed for Mythic Weapons) or simply to farm mobs for their alexandrites. Perhaps add some new NMs that drop new gear and introduce two new items that can contain anywhere from 2-12 Cotton or Linen Pouches. Perhaps have the first new item come from standard nms and the other drop from bosses...maybe add new bosses for more new items after meeting certain conditions?

I believe that takes care of the Duties, Tasks, and Deeds quest for mythic weapons. There is another quest that would suck to complete without a minor tweak to it. That quest being Forge a New Myth, and I also happened to notice that other players have beat me to the punch here:

Raise Tier IV Trophy drop rates to 100%.

Or maybe even allow 1-2 to drop, let some players complete their weapons or go for Pandemonium Warden and claim some of the coolest items in the game...or tell people that they can get an awesome atma from killing PW, whichever method works best lol.

If anyone has any suggestions of their own or think that there could be adjustments to mine, then hey feel free to let yourself be heard here. Only SE knows what's gonna happen later on down the road w/ Aht Urghan content, but I have high hopes that we will all be able to obtain our mythics one day :D

I do agree about the Alexandrite dropping from any mob in Salvage. I also wouldn't mind seeing it where regular NMs have a small chance of dropping a Linen Purse and the boss having the Linen Purse be a 100% drop. I think implementing a "100 Alexandrite" of some kind that the zone bosses can drop in addition to a Linen purse would be helpful too. These would still make getting 30,000 Alex a challenge, but limit how many times you have to beg for people to come and do an event that is hard to get help for if the people helping are not interested in the gear.

For the Forging a Myth quest, its been said before somewhere on the forums, but I think making the key item gained from turning in the ZNM items should be a permanent key item so you don't lose it if you fail. Just maybe put a 72 hour time limit in between tries if you fail.

Only thing with Nyzul that I'd like to see (though not sure if possible), would be on the lamps. At this time 3-4 people is common in doing Nyzul runs because of interest levels. When you get 5 lamp order floors, that is almost a death sentence to your run. I'd just like to see that the maximum lamps on lamp floors be equivalent to the amount of people that enter in your party.

As you said, only SE knows what it will do. All we can do is suggest and hope lol. I've been going for a mythic for a couple years now, and for me, getting Alexandrite is the biggest challange because of low drop rate and low interest in event now, plus rising costs of buying them making them more expensive than relics. We'll just have to see what happens come the next update.

I didn't think about the ZNM trophies turning into a Key Item, especially one that (in theory) would stay in your invo even if ya failed the bcnm. A "100 piece" Alexandrite sounds like a better idea than a stack of pouches in terms of realistic goals, maybe even a special pouch that contains a reasonable amount of those pieces.

As far as the lamps go, I think it's a good idea to limit the number of lamps based on the number of players in your party...I had only been thinking on an "obtaining tokens" frame of mind and not on the actual obstacles of Nyzul itself. Only annoying thing about that place imo are the simplest objectives on the biggest layouts. Defeat all enemies, but there's only 4 of them and you're running around in what feels like 50 rooms on the same floor :(

All in all, I'm sure we'll see way more Alexandrite come into play when the updates eventually hit...and more Mythics across the board without having to buy Mog Bonanza Marbles :(

Give us separate tags for nyzul and assaults. That way you can do nyzul and salvage at the same time, not have to wait until one is finished to do the other. Haven't we been asking for that since nyzul was added?

I think SE previously mentioned that they would allow Assault tags to replenish just like Traverser's Stones...shortly after the Roadmap was posted in April iirc. I'll agree with this suggestion though, since it would help facilitate (not necessarily speed up) a mythic weapon ^^

Just out of curiosity, if the mog bonanza awarded you with either a fully upgraded Mythic Weapon or a Cat's Eye (which takes the place of 30k Alexandrite)...which would you pick? :D

I really wish we could get some feedback on this, currently doing a mythic weapon and the Alexandrite/Einharjar stage are a real pain. I'm lucky to have a small group who are happy to farm Salvage zones daily for me but still you're looking around 40 weeks just for that stage.

Due to the fact that there is no longer any incentive for groups to do salvage these days it has resulted in the small few who do selling the Alexandrites for 9-10k a pop on Carbuncle at the minute. At that rate you're looking at roughly 270million gil. I appreciate that Mythic need to be somewhat exclusive, and yes that is half the fun of doing it but this is a tad excessive.

On top of the gruelling Alex stage there is redoing every assault mission one a day so that's a minimum of 50 days. Following that you will need to farm Nyzul floors daily while still fitting in Salvage...daily.

Then there is the Ichor needed from Einharjar. I find this stage one of the worst, getting people interested in this event atleast 2 times a week for so many weeks is so difficult. The Alexandrite stage is a pain but at least I can chip away at it daily with 2 others but fighting Odin isn't so simple.

Antanias makes some great points which I feel would increase the rate at which people can farm these weapons but also keep them as a challenge.

Any feedback would be great to let players know any ideas/planned changes ahead. If I new adjustments were coming I'd feel much better about going along as I am knowing it will be come easier to finish off!

Get 2 friends and you can do most of it. Get a better linkshell and you can easily complete the rest.

Hardest part about finishing my Ryunohige was the T4 trophies. 10 Soul Plates every vana day sucked. cause I would go out take 48~60 pics and 60 is if nothing failed which was incredible rare. then standing around for hours praying that the monster of the day didn't change. I was lucky enough to have people willing to help kill/make some t4's for me but it still took a while to finish. Went 1/11 for Tinnin, 1/4 for Saramya, 1/7 for Tyger.

Lifting the limit on Soul Plates (or even raising the zeni gain) sounds plausible. I mean c'mon, you're not gonna make all 20 weapons in ONE day are ya? :P

@ Zackan: They said nothing about being retroactive, but we won't really know until closer to update time.

They already said that there will be revisions to the TAU areas when the TAU synergy gear augments come out.

I also read your first mention of this matter in this thread, and that hasn't gone unnoticed :). My guess is that we'll get augments for CoP gear before we see ToAU readjusted.

Has SE posted anything in regards to Einherjar updates? At the minute getting atleast 6 people to do this every 72 hours and split the cost is a pain! The price isn't too bad but when trying to keep up with the high Alexandrite prices/daily salvage/assaultts/nyzul runs while in a full time job it's gil that could be better spent!

I can happily chip away at everything else but the Eyepatch really puts me off! Would love to have some details on possible Einherjar updates, anything to make getting all that Therion Ichor a little easier!

I am enjoying the challange of getting this a lot, just relying on people to do a dead event is hard really!

For those still keeping up with mythics, there was a post on the forums some time ago saying that Tier IV znm drops used for PW and Mythic weapons will be 100% next version update :D

I completely agree with the suggestions of the original post. Doing a mythic weapon myself and I'm finding it a different sort of beast to tame than it's relic counterpart. I'd love to get some information or feedback from the Devs on what the Salvage and Urgan adjustment/revitalization will be. It would perhaps make this quest seem a lot less hopeless ....

Oh please please let their b some changes ._., Just had to end my salvage group due to lack of interest, and for the 2 runs a week for 3 months, 10 stacks of alex, but we really need to see the toau gear/upgrades/changes soon, as that gear is too good to see unused (salvage gear) took ppl a long time to build that, Also on another note, Gate nms in salvage, i've noticed how little they pop an nm while going thru for e.g. chigoe after chigoe etc etc, how about changing this so at least 1 nm pops outta the gate, but to make it fair, do not put the gear drop 100%?

even getting Ein once a day would speed up the process of getting my nirvana...as for soul plates, getting enough to get the amount of Zeni will be easy since Naul in abyssea can be handed in anytime, but handing them in only 10 per game day is going to really slow down how fast I get the zeni needed to get all 3 t4 drops...and then I'll have to get t4 pops 3 more times for the magian trial....
nyzul and assaults are easy if you find 2 people willing to help, I just want more tags/week because the assaults and nyzul climbs are fun
salvage right now turns into slavage to get alex, and while it is a challenge, there's a point where "challenge" becomes "boring" and "frustrating" for the alex requirement, making it more plentiful, or simply reducing the amount needed would be good (personally, just making it drop more would make me happier) especially since it's 12-15k on Lakshmi atm

to me, the mythic weapons are much more challenging, and much more fun than trying to make an empyrian weapon, but parts of the challenge border on tedium, which drains some of the fun from them

That would be unacceptable to me, I like the idea that mythic is very hard to accomplish and by being able to trade it would devalue a mythic weapons worth, how many people that won second place prize would pick this item and then sell it instead of tossing it. This would flood the mythic market and I like that it's the true last rare weapon to get/see people with. I'd appreciate that the catseye be able to be mailed to characters on same account. Also, if it were tradable, it would out value the first place prize of gil, since 30k in alex is worth over 100+million gil (the averge first place gil prize). This would force it to be a first place prize, and then the unfortunite person who wouldnt do a mythic unless they won the second class prize of the catseye's would see there chances of a mythic greatly reduced because mostly the average number of rank one winners is around 40 per event, total on all servers, versus a higher number of people winning rank two.
