Dear who it may concern,
Ive been playing this game for many many years, Ive enjoyed this game entirely, and I want to see this game grow even more and prosper. So Im discussing and suggesting things that need to change or this game is going to be shut down in the next few years. I love this game and I dont want to see it get shut down,
Old Vanadiel -
Im refering to non abysessa areas. This part of the game is almost useless. I have fond memories of these areas, remember 101 ways to die in valkurm dunes? I loved and hated valkurm dunes. VD is just a desserted wasteland now, and so is most other party areas below abyssea areas. People just solo to 30 and then leech to 90. Which is fine for the older players that dont want to deal with leveling a job. But the new players are my concern, you guys keep offering this great deal on prices for the game, but whats the sense when newbies really have no chance. Yea more exp is nice, but this is a party based game. Nobody does sky, sea or limbus or WotG anymore for that matter. Its like you guys just said screw it, and just gonna let it ride to the last person quits. So here are my suggestions to make this game more playable for new and old people, and make it more challenaging.
Sky, Sea, and Limbus
No body does this anymore, because the armor is useless and people dont want to waste their time doing it. So heres to routes you can take with this honestly, revamp them, this is one way. Level up these areas to be challenaging for Level 90s, and of course increase the gear level, and make it better, and I dont mean augments, and make it worth while, do what you do. Make the armor better then AFV3, make it worth getting. and so people start doing it again, Henceforth it being called GOD armor. I never got a chance to even beat proto ultima, and i would really wouldl ike to without having to pay someone 3M to get pop items. The other route is simplified, and involves the NM/God mobs to drop a Key Item or an Item which pops a LV90+ verison of the mob which drops again GOD armor, not cheesy crap.
So that would fix the issue with Sea/limbus/sky , but how would the issue with newbs getting to play and expierence what most ppl got to experience, and I know this is harsh and most people might get mad at it, and disagree but it HAS to be done. Make it so you cant enter abyssea til your 75, I know right outrageous right? I dont believe that for a second, whats the point if you can just leech your job, and just get it to 90. its bull, alot of us, leveled for months, woke up at odd times for khnms just to get aa peice of armor that is junk now, so many people years and years put into this game just to watch it get destroyed. and Alot of us quit. a peice of armor that would taken almost a year to 2 years to get and now suddenly trash? It upset alot of people. thats why I suggest this two solutions, to even out the easy and the hard. to make the game more newb friendly. To give more ppl the right skill to play the job. I hope this happens, because this would make the game last longer. and not be an empty wasteland via nonabyssea areas. I want challenage, not everything handed to me on a silver platter. I know some of you guys dont agree with this, but I know more agree and it should be done.
Thank you for reading this I hope it helps the future of this game :)

and the first expsansions were 30 bucks when they first came out, and now their useless, just a waste of 120 dollars + the game. How are players going to experience this game when theres no one to help you out, or experience it with you?

Well, I played since 2003. And I don't miss a single thing from the past. It was all terrible content and people should be happy they don't even have to touch it these days.
Of course most of my hate stems from playing Summoner, and if you look at all content before Abyssea for SMN, it can be summed up with Dynamis Relic Armor. You got some scraps now and then, like YY robe, Bahamut staff, but in general no content offered anything.
If only SE could actually balance out their updates instead of favor PLD, WAR, SAM, BLM in every single update. There are more jobs than 4 jobs in this game, even if the developers don't want to admit it.

PLD? Are you sure we're playing the same game? lol I agree though (in the job balancing), SE is most biased towards SAM, and I hate it.
Otherwise I miss the old Vanadiel and the challenge of getting sea, the rewarding aura of getting your job to cap. Probably one of the few who will say that. I enjoy a challenge and kind of miss the slower leveling. Though there are still 9 more levels till our final level cap, we still have a chance to see abyssea fade into the background, only used for things such as AF like limbus and dynamis. I highly doubt it, but it can happen.
*Highly supports abyssea leech block with 75 cap requirement!* (I mean, not like it's hard anyway to get to 75 anymore...)

It was hard, smn was always hard. But one of the most useful jobs in sky. Im not saying bring back the old vanadiel, Im saying tweak it and keep it how it is, with the exp buffs, so its more enjoyable. so it doesnt feel more like a real life job. I understand your pain. SMN was basically your healing, or your soloing. But truthfully, abysseas fun, and i like it, but we need to put the 75 enter only because old vanadiel needs to strive for the new to exist. their merging servers again cause not many people playing anymore.
Oh and heres another idea that may lead to fixing the problem:
make an abysessan sky, sea and limbus. different mobs of course, but make it harder, and the gear worth it, and dont just put afv2 drops make abyssean God armor. that would be nice. but I still say need to but the 75 enter only for this game to survive or have the devlopers given up on this game?

I also agree on the 75 cap requirment.
I'm sure there is going to be updates to existing zones to some extent. I can't see the dev team creating beautiful zones and then not doing anything with them again (granted it sure is taking a while) I'd be careful what you wish for though. ( hi, grounds of valor in lowbie zones) Great for people who are all ready high level and prepared, not so much if you ever need to back track or people who need low level quests.
Even if some of the armor is "useless" or out of date now,i'm sure as heck going back and getting things I wanted in the past and missed. Specially if they are going to be doing that augmenting thing or adding more augment-able items to that list, it is better to have the base armors now then wait for things to be hopping again and too swamped to make any progress. Not putting it past them to totally change that up later on.
As far as the updates for "PLD, WAR, SAM, BLM" PLD never gets anything useful, I feel bad for them. WAR is catching a break because of Fell Cleave, SAM still feels the same to me, and BLM has the option to not get hit in the face as much, which can be avoided by not being reckless.
Since abyssea-like zones were mostly well received, i'm sure SE is going to jump on that and come up with another mini-expansion like it for other zones. It might not be called abyssea, but I can see that happening. We're also suppose to be getting "test servers" for something which is probably the next big thing.

I get waht your saying, but the truth is, you and what 3 ppl are doing it? and theres not even enouhg ppl doing CoP missions or RoZ missions for the newbs to even get a chance of to experience it. I mean, some ppl are kind and they help ppl but most arent. SE needs to make it worthwhile again. And if they put on a level cap for aby to enter, i mean every death, every experience creates a better and more skilled player. And Im not saying change old vanadiel, Make us HAVE do stuff in it again. thats what im saying. Make it worth while, who wants to buy a game that you can get to lv90 within 3 or 4 days if you know what you doing. Wheres the challenage in that?

No one also wants to buy a game where you have to sell your soul, so to speak to finish objectives. If I told someone to try FFXI today, and then tell them everything they'd have to do (the old way) to get caught up to where I am, that took years to do, They aren't playing it.
I do wish people could experience it the way we did when it was new, but because of its lifespan, somethings got to give. If its so easy for people to get to 90, then they can go back and do those expansions and not be under level 75 and under like old players were or deal with some of the level capped areas that are no longer under restriction. I don't see how thats making it so they can't experience it, if anything its helping them out. People who really like games will do it for the completion factor. If they chose not to, well, that is up to them.
You're going to have good players and bad players regardless of the conditions. FFXI has questionable players just like every other MMO before and after the changes. I rather new people be able to solo as much as those expansions as possible since it is old content, then having old time players redo them 5+ times for people, only to have them quit because its "too hard". Doing old content over and over burns people out.
Honestly, we do have stuff to do again. It isn't very exciting, but magians for example makes you go back into old zones for hours/days maybe even weeks at a time. Same with GoV and FoV. Its new objectives, but technically not new content. If you walk around Vana'diel you will see possible new/unused zone lines for later add ons.
While the new stuff might not be liked by some, SE after all, is a corporation and they are going to do what makes them money. Whatever challenges were nerfed from these changes, new ones will follow. you just need to move with the times. being sad about something because it isn't the way it used to be isn't going to make them change it. If anything I find going to the older zones bittersweet and still enjoy them. Now, getting people to help you get x50 items from a NM multiple times without them hating you, -is- a challenge! :)

Your totally right on that on that one, but Im not talking about that. What Im talking about is Sure you can go back and do everything, butll prolly take you X2 longer now without ppl constantly doing it. FFXI is the probably the easiest of ptp mmorphs out there. sobek and various other NMs are easy, i mean get the right people or go with an linkshell. But Im saying, its literally solo to 30 then leech to 90. I honestly got my sch 1-75 in 7 hours. I wanna see old vanadiel be used more, and not just for sea/limbus/sky purposes. Theres a huge world, and players dont even get to see half of it anymore. Its rather disappointing. I remember going into a new area, all confused and lost and id be like wow amazing. Gears not that hard to get. Empy weapons are not hard to get just time consuming. Dont get me wrong I love aby, but i also love the old world. Its all fun, and I think people should have to use the whole game and not til they get access to abyssea. Its just too easy now. In a bad way. And do I know going from aby -> to old vanadiel your like this sucks, you have no atmas. Your like my spell only did that much, and I actually haveta heal? man I dont want to work? this sucks. PPL want a challenage not everything handed to them on a silverplatter. back in the day youd see someone with homan and youd like hes so pimp. and the New Gear is so friggin amazing but you just walk by and your like oh cool. No sense of achievment. I had people ask me whats dynamis i wanna join and they dont even have the clears. :/
I can understand that, It doesn't have the same feeling when it comes to achievement, but I think abyssea was pretty much a "gimmie" just to get people caught up for whatever is next in the franchise, so don't get discouraged just yet. I think the team really went out of their comfort zone for this particular set of add ons and they needed something like this to reel more people in to keep the games population up. Whatever the new fangled-thing they are working on for 2012 will probably more what we're used to,and hopefully include the older areas as well.

Also, was looking into other forums realized that sky sea and limbus can be changed with crafting, be able to make different cursed items for better god gear. that would be good i think :) same ABJs but different cursed items for different armor upgrades

Yeah, that is what I was talking about in the previous post about going back and getting things you may have missed. Not as obsolete as it seems, I think they mentioned being able to overwrite the stats if you wanted to also. should be interesting!
