The Road to Aht Urhgan...broken?

I was trying to do the quest for the first time in order to get my mithra to blue mage, and got all of the items the NPC asked for, but from there, the quest seems to have broken. Faursel told me to trade the items to him one at a time, but when I tried to, nothing happened - it was like the trade just canceled. After trying this for quite a while and getting frustrated, I threw all the items into the trade at once (damselfly worm, crab apron, magicked skull, dhalmel saliva, wild rabbit tail, and bloody robe), and THEN he accepted it and told me to come back the next day. To my understanding, this was supposed to be the next game day, so I waited and spoke to him and...nothing. Thinking that maybe I was mistaken and had to wait until the next real day, I waited, and again, nothing. It was still a few hours short of being 24 hours, though, so I waited again...and finally I went back a few minutes ago - nearly two days later - and got the same message (to wait a day, and then I'd receive my boarding permit). I checked my quest information in the menu, and the step still says to give him the items, but when I speak to the NPC, he talks like he's received them, which he did, and tells me to wait. I've waited, but it's apparently not going to resolve itself. Help?

That's the thing, though - it's been TWO full days now, so plenty of time has passed. Something's broken in the quest step flags, or something.

Ah well, it's all the same t' me, as long as I make a profit. This will be more like running errands, but there are a lot o' things for you to collect on this list. There are a lot o' curious items here. I need you to bring me Magicked Skull, Damselfly Worm, and Crab Apron. Wait, there's more. I also require Bloody Robe and Dhalmel Saliva. ...Oh, and one last thing--Wild Rabbit Tail. Hand me these six items at one time, and I will be satisfied.

Definitely says hand them all over at one time, which you did, now try zoning and talking to him again.
