Figured this should go under bugs since grounds of valor itself is a bug.

I was thinking about leveling another character but my favorite leveling places are now far to exciting.

I don't like fighting 3 of this enemy then 2 of that one then run back to a book to get another "page". I want to clean the tunnel of all goblins. The possibility to get bonus "something" for each set of 5 or 8 i kill wound be nice. That way i could keep moving through the dungeon.

Either way the inner horutoto ruins has to change back to the leveling ground it once was. I'm not sure how i will manage to complete certain quests and missions otherwise.

@Zaknafein and OP- I am getting sick to the back teeth of the use of the words Retard or Retarded. Please locate a dictionary and wrap your brains around what they mean. Zaknafein if you have nothing constructive to say, keep lip zipped.

A) Retarded. Unless you mean that you need to tart the zones again, but I never realized it was tarted before and then taken away.

B) Nobody is forcing you to do Grounds of Valor. The book is just a suggestion. You don't have to do it if you want to kill one type of monster. All this little "event" is doing is making you fight different types of mobs so you can know how and the best ways to kill that type of mobs. Fighting birds? Use a polearm or any piercing weapon. Fighting skellies? Whack them with a club or any blunt object. Fighting slimes? Kill with magic. Fighting....what's weak against slashing? Ghosts I know of, but what else?

C) Again, who's stopping you from spending all your time in Inner Horutoto Ruins? Except exp caps.

Ground of Valor is a very nice idea, but SE dropped the ball in implementation. There needs to be more Ground Manual within one zone, placing 4-5 so that you no longer have to run ALL THE WAY BACK to the entrance. Take King Ranperre's Tomb for example, or Fei Yin. I feel that the developers are doing a half baked job implementing this great idea... what a disappointment!!

I agree with the majority of your post, but this one I can answer - a good portion of the area that used to be valid for solo levelling in lower (12-20 or so, maybe) levels is now filled with level 80-90+ mobs of the same families. I've specifically seen this in Beetle's Burrow, but I dunno if it's in other areas of the ruins also; I do know that if you keep running towards the Three Mage Gate, you'll eventually hit lower-level monsters again, but not quite of the same level range.

To be more specific: the area that was previously populated by stuff like Goblin Ambushers/Butchers/etc. and similarly levelled monsters has been repopulated by higher-levels, while the slightly higher-level Gamblers/Leechers/etc. are still in place further in.

This. The amount of grounds tomes are totally inadequate and in some places, stupidly placed. King Ranperre's Tomb is one example as there is no tome whatsoever in the basement area where all the high level monsters are. Crawler's Nest could be better placed as well, by putting the Tome in the first big circular room instead of at the very entrance. And again, there's no tome where the new high level monsters are. Garlaige Citadel is annoying because of the gates and needs more tomes.

What's wrong with these designers? Why spend more time running back to the tome than it takes to actually finish the training regime. Jeebus.

Man, could have fixed the spelling when you moved it.

Anyway, we either need more Grounds Tomes or just to have Magian Spec act as summonable Grounds Tomes. The latter option would be badass and should be instantly implemented everywhere, but it's so obvious an option that I think we can take the fact they haven't done it as proof that they'll never do it.

I want a GM avatar like Xophious... then again I wish the GMs replied to my calls within 2hrs, might be why i stopped calling them (I pass out while waiting)... But Kimmie has a point and another post has a point, the places for the books is rather laborious, i just ended up going back to do a page for gil. I seriously wish that they did something with the monsters, like make none of them agressive since with places like Ranguemont Pass you need to through aggroing monsters that are T 90 to get to Beaucidine Glacier for the first time...

So the OP is saying that they believe the Grounds of Valor to be lacking of normal development of intellectual capacities. Which it does, as it's counter intuitiveness in how xp grinding works in the given areas could very well be defined as "Retarded". There's medical terminology, and negative slurs. Stop being offended by a medical term.

Are they going to ignore this? The trend I been seeing is that SE created new things, dropped the balls, and then never bother to adjust. Chocobo Racing, ZNM and Pankration are good example. Now Ground of Valor... And while we are on the subject of improvement, would it be too much to ask for the developer to make the BCNM/KCNM to warp us close to the place instead of having us wasting another 30 mnts just to get there....

Old-school SE does things like leaves Frogs broken for five months. Going a month without an update doesn't mean that they've forgotten the event, it means that the next update hasn't hit yet.
