My LS had the misfortune of popping Maere ontop of another group doing Gamayun. Where we would suspect this would cause no issues since Area of Effect attacks shouldn't hit players outside the alliance with no hate on the mob, however, we wiped to Maere because the Aerial Blast from Gamayun oneshotted most of the DDs and support. I asked my linkshell if anyone had assisted the other alliance because this seemed odd, and was told that no one had assisted them. Since in every other instance AoE attacks will only hit people in the same alliance or with hate on the mob, this seems extremily out of place and prone to misuse.

This is normal for some mobs.

All VNM mobs. And not just inside Abyssea. VNMs can kill you right off your Chocobo. It happens all the time, everywhere, it's part of the game mechanic. If, however, that was intended, I'm not sure, and personally wouldn't mind a "fix".
