View Full Version : Suggestion to relieve congestion anywhere in Jeuno

Simple, remove the ability to set HP anywhere in Jeuno. Add Global chat feature (as has been suggested and with on/off filter ) so those wishing to Abyssea can organize their parties from their Home or any other Nation.

Since the AH's have been combined, there is no real reason to be in Jeuno for crafting purposes (there are no Crafting Guilds in Jeuno), buying or selling. Jeuno could become the base for those people who might still like to bazaar and/or for Synergists plus you can still get there from WG and other areas.

Remember too, you can only access your Storage from your Home Nation. You MIGHT need something stored there at the last minute, can't get it from Rent-a-Rooms.

Move the OP for Qufim from Delkufft's Tower to the FoV book area at the tunnel entrance leading to Jeuno (in before people complain about the long run).

NPC's for Traverser Stones and Abyssea Warp have been placed in Cities for our convenience. Have to say I LOVE it.

Situate a Tele-Port NPC in all four Jeuno zones. (For those players still needing a chocobo license, to start/finish quests/missions etc that need to be in Jeuno) "Greetings Adventurer" "For a mere xxx gil I can Tele-Port you to one of the following Tele-Crystals" "What is your choice?" (Select one). "Make it so" "Make it no". "Wave Magic Wand! Gone! I mention this because there are almost never any Tele-Rings up for sale anymore and can only be equipped/used at level 65 anyway.

These NPC's could also be placed in the 3 cities, since finding someone to Tele-Port is getting much harder. Yes, there is still a need.

The removal of HP from Jeuno would be dependant on having the Global chat option of course, and a bit radical perhaps since there is a Home Point setting everywhere in Van a'diel. It might however, help to reduce the congestion.

you serious? ....(see server wide shouts thread, that's the way to go), your post is complicating the process....not fixing it.

Please note the word "Suggestion" in the title and the words "a bit radical perhaps". The issue is the congestion in Port Jeuno especially that everyone complains about, plus the reported problems of getting stuck in a nether world trying to warp back there from various and sundry areas or outright dc'ing trying to zone in.

Let me change Global to Server-Wide chat abilities, my error. Even given that that becomes an eventuality ( I hope), the congestion will continue imho unless some other means can be found to relieve it.

Server wide shouts will just lead to harassment and stupidity all over the server, not just in one zone at a time.

Bad idea.

setting an auto disconnect if idle in port jeuno for more than 60 minutes would help.

Disabling homepoints in all of jeuno is terrible. Just add region chats or something like what we've been talking about in those threads, and it'll be no problem. Even if people still often set HPs in port jeuno, you won't have to deal with it if you feel bothered by it. You can just set it elsewhere and still get the shouts.

I did say the idea was a bit rad. :) I like the idea of auto disconnect if idle for more than 60 minutes. I sincerely hope that SE will try to get Server-Wide chats implemented or something similar. Anything would be helpful at this point to relieve an ongoing issue.

While I know you took alot of time for your suggestion, I have to disagree as Jueno has a convenience factor also, AH, MH, save point, NPC, airships, BCNM NPC, Limbus NPC, etc. all within a few steps, with no zoning required. I think server shouts is the only "true" way to alleviate Jueno congestion.

the only way to do server shouts creates a bigger memory problem than anything they currently have. i personally wouldn't want it unless you could block it or have it in it's own window tab. 3000+ people with the ability to be heard 24/7. i don't think ANY of you realize how irritating that would be.

Well, then you think wrong. I am well aware that having 3000 people chatting all in one channel would be problematic. Why do you think I suggested that the larger chat channel would be possible to filter, and that I suggested a lines per minute limitation on it?

Not to mention that a region chat or city chat would be perfectly fine too. There aren't 3000 players in one region all the time. I would dare say 3000 people in one region is actually very rare.

Server shouts are not an answer to anything, they will just be a new source of spam and harrassment.
Removing HPs from jeuno will make it very inacessable.
The real solution would be to reimplement bazaar tax in jeuno as nearly 50% of the people there are AFK bazaars.
