First off I hope I chose the right location for this.
SE I don't know about others but I would really like to see you implement the ability to call on our NPC's in the ToAU areas and such. I think it would be a nice benefit for those that actually put the time into leveling their NPC's. Mine naturally is level 70 and it would also be nice to get a cap to go up on these as well. I'd hate to see them become a pointless waste after putting so much effort into getting it to 70.
What say thee SE? >.o

Oh yes, please give my Clearite some attention! I'd love to break lvl 70 cap and be able to call her in all areas.

I also wanna see their leveled raised, though Mugido is 68 he is close to 70 none the less :/ and my other npc on my Galka is level 46...they raised their exp gain too why not lift the cap & at least let them get 75 or 80
I wouldn't mind doing a few quests to raise the level cap. Also I wouldn't mind is there were a few races added to af , such as moogles or goblins. seeing as there are friendly ones all over the places

I was JUST about to make a thread about this! LOL. But it's so true, they need to let us use npcs in TOAU areas. We can use them in WOTG and they don't even exist yet in the past.
They also gotta revamp the adventuring fellows, they're kind of forgotten.

Yea lol I'm glad to see there are others out there feelin the "Love" for their NPC as I do hehe. I mean back in the day, depending on your NPC set up, that was the one thing that made you go from the impossibility of 'soloing' something to being able to completely tear something up without the need for another 'playable' character in the game. I still find my NPC very useful in so many cases. The pure fact that if you /RDM or Main RDM you can give your Soothing Healer or your Stalwart Shield class refresh is just amazing. Nothing beats subbing something like Dancer, Warrior or Paladin or even Scholar (as Main RDM) converting and getting a Cure V from your NPC 2x in a row to fully top your HP off without expending any MP at all so long as you keep him/her Refreshed. I personally would like to see them throw in some more abilities for the NPC as well whether that comes from added Job Classes or whatever. Toss a NINJA job class in there for all I care. I mean...when I went and fought my NPC, the crazy woman RDM 2hr'd and began casting Utsusemi: Ni for goodness sake! lol...So SE can't tell me it's not feasible!

Please, please, please do something with our NPCs! They should be raised to 90 cap. We should be able to summon them ANYWHERE. We should be able to summon them even if our party is full. There is so much untapped potential here. Give the players what they want SE, not what you think they need.

I've been waiting to lvl my Fhig Newton above lvl 70 for sooo long. I also dislike the exp she steals from me when im lvling, most time i have to use an exp band just to counter that. I would love to see more fashionable gear for her using those NPC points, besides the wedding dress attire and the giant squeaky rubber mallet, my favorite combo. ^^

I would like to see their lvl cap increased and the area's they can be in also. Id also like to seem the have regen and refresh, that would be a big help, even if it's just on them self. And increasing the amount of time/kills they stay for would be nice, but not needed that badly.

Technically all our characters would be kids too, following this logic.... but... the first CS to call them in WoTG talks about the maw... think thats how they get there, unaltered :o
Also, on another note.... 20hr earring to call them? No thanks..... 1 to 5hrs max please...

That's what the Tactics Pearl is for. 4 call's every 5 min, get it once a week, if your clever you can use your npc 6 time's in one day. Call them one day with the Signal Pearl, log out, log in the next day and you still have them, the Signal Pearl is recharged for another use along with the Tactics Pearl. At least i have no problem with the Signal Pearl anyways, there are a few time's i wish i could use it more, but that's not very often.

The recharge timers for calling the NPC is fine. All I would like to see is for the level cap of them to be raised in accordance with the level cap raises of player characters. Making theNPC cap 5-10 levels below what a PC can be sounds all right.
I also wouldn't mind a few more AI patterns either. Like one that doesn't debuff enemies and focuses on buffing/healing me :>. Especially with haste.

Indeed, NPCs need to be updated. Very soon, there will be a 30 level difference between myself and Jesimae!
The healer role runs out of MP too quickly, and sometimes it seems like it does more to slow me down. They should be able to refresh themselves, and be able to refresh the player, too! It seems like it needs Fast Cast as well, as it can get left behind casting a lengthy Stoneskin while I'm running towards my destination.
The tank simply cannot keep up in hate. It needs some job abilities on some sort of timer, or TP moves that allow it to take hate.
The NPC can be a great utility when I'm doing weapon-related quests and I need a skillchain partner. I wish i could specify which weaponskill it does, instead of random Skullbreakers and whatnot.

what they could do is give you some commands with them, like you could ask them during battle(or the Rendezvous point) to focus on debuffs or buffing or curing and so on. Also what would be nice is to let us call our partner's even under level sync, they can typically be good party filler's, either on attacker style or healer style(if your the tank). Im not sure on how well shield style will work in a party, i don't think they can be targeted by any player other than you.. and then there's the lack of them being able to keep hate.... oh, here's an idea, give them some type of merit's they can earn so we can boost there stat's also... either at will, or a different set for each style they have. That way we could give them more enmity on the shield style, but not the other's.

Not only would I like to see the level cap raised, considering they could get to level 70 when our cap was still 75, but also not just ToAU but all the other places that previously had level restrictions that were recently removed like Sacrarium, Riverne, Pso'Xja. Really the only places to keep them from would be endgame events and BCNM type fights.

Echo: Raise lvl Cap, Expand Territory
adding more job classes such as; Nuker, or enhancer/enfeebler (RDM BRD or COR), or Evasion Tank(NIN, DNC, THF), Pet Job (DRG, BST, PUP, SMN), or specialty DD (DNC, BLU, DRK) or even RNG style.
Enhance the AI so my stupid healer doesnt spend all her MP on silencing a Cockatrice & then has no MP to stona me.
more Gear Sets purchased at the NPC fellow merchant (AF, Relic, Empyrean, and other full sets [perhaps only the gear sets you've previously acquired])
maybe adding in any WS's you've unlocked. Example: give them a sword and they can use savage blade, death blossom, expiacion etc, provided that you've unlocked them on your Character.
Soothing Healer with Reraise/Raise yes please.
I also like the Idea someone else posted about moogles & gobs. But how about this: a seperate Beastman Fellow that can be summoned at a different time. I would love the option of choosing a Goblin, Orc, Quadav, Yagudo, or any other Beastman type. Give us a separate Pearl for this, & make it so you can only summon 1 or the other. & this would also give us the option to summon the Fellow or Beastman back-to-back. (an interesting trick would be that the beastman you choose, will not fight it's own kind)

THey have Beastmen NPC's that sort of work like our fellows, you know those hats? well they can be used to call the Goblin, Quadav, Orc & Yagudo NPC's to assist though its random what they will do for you & its limited 30/30 & same wait as our NPC's (I think) heres the names of them:
Choplix's Coif, when called he will...
-Goblin rush
- a "friendly" version of goblin dice
Tsoo Haja's Headgear when called he will...
- Double Kick
- Give you haste or warcry effect
Da'Vhu's Barbut when called he will...
- Ore Toss
- and again give you haste or warcry effect
Gadzradd's Helm when called he will...
- Slam dunk
- and once again give you hate or warcry
I have never seen any of the beastmen npc used (let alone people with the fully upgraded helm, just the base.

For Wotg I could see were once you do enough campaign or op's you get another item where you can summon two discipline's or shoot even a full like party. Have a system somewhat like ff12 giving them rules of actions ect. Never understood why there's huge area's in the past with just one spot to do campaign's. Anyway just an opinion something I would like to see.

Yep, Yufafa needs some love. I don't intend to show my pup or rng's face in Abyssea until 75 , with my skills at/near cap (I plan to actually be useful in there) and that means I'm soloing. My little NPC makes that SO much better. Granted, I have her at 70, but if you raise her level cap we just might get people to skill-up again, using NPCs since parties exist nowhere outside Abyssea post level 30. Maybe you could extend the number of kills they can be out for, too, or simply make it strictly a time limit.

Maybe there should be more quests to do with one's NPC, other than just the Tactics Pearl quest.

Derp. The adventuring fellow update was announced on the first of april. Only three posts in this thread were made after April 1st. This post, your post, and the post before that.

One person has said anything after the update was announced. He asked for more quests to do with the adventuring fellow, a topic not touched upon in the update notes.
