Could ya change the npc's that stand in front of the Mog houses to mailboxes. They just stand there and take up space these days. Then we could walk out of our houses up the the mailbox to delever stuff and receive stuff w/o havin to run all the way to the AH and back constaintly.

Ya know, normally I am against most "make so and so easier" requests. However, this one I am in favor of.
The NPCs in Mhaura and Selbina are right next to the Nomad Moogles.

The mailboxes and delivery persons are linked so if you try to use one too quickly after the other you will get the please wait longer message.

I'd take it a step further and request that the delivery boxes in your mog house get upgraded to mailboxes as well, combining the features to send and receive items. This would be very handy for muling items efficiently without having to clog up other zones.

Useless NPCs? These are the people that are guarding your house and making sure no intruders enter to steal your precious loots!
Now on a serious note, we checked with the development team and they said that they will be looking into the possibility of adding mailbox NPCs in front of mog houses.

Better idea. How about letting us send things from -within- our Mog Houses?

They would tell me to "get back to your room, foreigner!" I doubt their good intentions, just a little! (and the taru would steal my baked goods. ;-; )
I like the idea of adjusting the delivery system, also a notification message maybe when your stuff sells off of the AHs Maybe in the same fashion that Campaign activity/mog tablet updates are in? Might help with AH congestion if there ever is any now that they are merged, People won't have to check MH and AH often unless they absolutely need to.

Since we're on the topic of item delivery NPCs, I thought I might share some of my opinions concerning the matter:
First off, I've always found it to be rather annoying that I can never tell which NPCs are item delivery NPCs and which ones aren't. There is no visual indication whatsoever that would let you know unless you talked to them and memorized all their locations. That simply isn't very user-friendly. There are a few different ways to solve this problem:
1) Change the names of all item delivery NPCs to "Item Delivery." It's not like any of them are ever important to the game's story, so they really don't need to have unique names anyway. "Item Delivery" as a name would work fine.
2) Put an envelope or mailbox icon next to their names, so that you know they're item delivery NPCs (personally, I like this option better than #1).
3) Turn all item delivery NPCs into moogles wearing mailman uniforms, so that you can instantly recognize them and spot them from a distance (my favorite solution).
Also, another thing, I've always felt that the current icon the game has always used to represent item delivery is horribly inadequate. It looks like three bricks stacked on a table, which doesn't convey the message of mail or item delivery at all! A better icon would be to use an image of a mailbox or an envelope. That way people know what the icon is supposed to mean at first glance, and it actually makes logical sense.

It doesn't take all that long before you know who they are.
As for the icon usage, I don't think my haubergeon or stack of coeurl meat would fit inside a normal sized envelope.

Still, it should be more obvious than it is. Some kind of visual indication should be in place. The lack of such indicators on all types of NPCs as always been one of FFXI's biggest flaws.
You might be able to remember the locations of enough NPCs to get by, but chances are you haven't memorized the locations of every NPC in the entire game.

Why not? Every item in the game can each fit into a single inventory slot, regardless of size. Your haubergeon and stack of coeurl meat, for example, would each take up exactly the same amount of inventory space as a flower or a slip of paper would, not to mention how we adventurer's can carry around up to 240 items without any visible backpack of any kind. So clearly Vana'diel's items must be susceptible to some kind of inter-dimensional space/time compression, thus allowing any item to fit into almost any space. :P

Actually, I think it is the bags we carry things in that have interdimensional properties. In that case, delivery NPCs should probably have icons depicting small time-space warping delivery crates.

It's a ship with 3 sails, facing you. I noticed it the first time I saw it.
What I like about Final Fantasy XI is its attention to the roleplay aspect of the game. I don't want to see names destroyed and replaced with "Item Delivery". Keep the names the way they are.

I rather like Rhianu's second idea, adding an icon beside their name, like how players have Linkshell icons but dealing with the Auction House. Another way would be to add initials to the end similar to how conquest-related NPCs are (T.K., W.W., I.M.) but for the delivery system.

I thought those npc's were used to go let you into your friends' mog houses.

Yes, please. It would make muling things so much easier.

umm. no one's hometown is in mhaura or selbina. why are you bringing that up? is anyone gonna make their homepoint mhaura or selbina just so they can have their moogle and their dbox right next to each other? I dont think so

D'awww, they don't get their own names? Aren't they special enough? :(
Just kidding, but I do like the idea of having a mailbox outside of the home. We do it in real life for the very same reasons!

I would prefer that the mailbox system is inside the moghouse, that it is in the moghouse menu just like the delivery system is. So that you can just select, "mail", and the mailing system would occur. Would be the most convient of the two, and the most logical. If the mailbox is going to be in front of the moghouse why not just put it inside, saving the zoning waste of time and loading waste of time, because in the end this is why its going to be installed right, so lets do it right.
