Basically, as we know "Souleater" grants a 10% damage and +25acc bonus at the cost of -10%hp(give or take). A change I would like to see is having the effects of "Souleater" carry over to the magical side. That is to say, grant a +10% MaB and +25 Macc at the cost of -10% hp.

If Souleater is gonna effect magic...

+20-25 macc is fine.

But I disagree +10 MAB or +10% MAB or +10% Magic DMG will not really add anything to DRK w/e you do.
It should add 10% of your current hp to the base DMG of the spells.

I say this mainly because we could use it with drain II to get a massive hp boost and drain to offset souleaters hp loss massivly and therefore would be super useful for DRK.

But outside this it would boost (elemental spells) Tier I spells to near Tier III level and Tier III spells to near Teir IV levels which for those DRKs that want to cast would be a nice addition (not my cup of tea tho) and it's prettly much balanced because your sacrificing your melee DMG by casting.

Not much better than all the stupid RDMs who want to melee.

Way to call it like it is Jar and Nacht, also why is this thread being posted for 3rd time by same OP?

why some ppl wanna turn drk into a nuker idk, im happy with what we got on the magic side of things, just fix our "real"spells (drain/II/aspir/II/endark/dreadspikes and the absorbline) so that theyre acutally worth throwin' out there during melee which is what we are there for << we have a high dps weapon with either scythe or gsd so we should be utilizing it, u dont see pld saying it wants to cure like a whm or something do you? no, so why do ppl insist on us nuking like a blm, if i wanna nuke ill play my blm ty

Sorry, I had posted this suggest in DRK thread AND suggestions. One got moved here. Also, I did mean that the damage addition works the same way as regular Souleater. Meaning, the -10%HP amount would be added to whatever you were casting. An issue with drain does come up, and I'd like to limit damage to purely elemental damage. However it should be noted drain and drain II both have fairly long casting and recasting timers. Even if the "new" Souleater changes drain use a bit, a player isnt likely to get off easy if using both. Yes, a players HP would recover to cap, but also the added enmity would be that much greater.
Think of it another way, a DRK with stoneskin up, basically get a free strike or two with Souleater up anyway. A player CANNOT melee strike AND cast at the same time. If a player SE's a weaponstrike, his HP will drop and a mob will usually be on him for hate. Using drainn II to recover will make mob hate that much more worst. A player will eventually have to balance their own use of a Souleater drain anyway.

The best way to manage emnity on DRK is to just tank or co-tank mobs so you won't have to even care you're pulling hate lul

Edit: I guess that was off topic from the OP but whatev

Please... some of us just want an instant cast JA or decreased casting time so i can get those spells off that need to get off. Still experimenting with occult accumen and store tp gear. I don't care about nuke damage but a TP jump between LR and Hasso would be welcomed if there's hidden support for such a setup. Also we get quite a bit of m.acc/mab anyway...

Like I said in another thread, Scourge would be a better spell than Demi, as far as Final Fantasy cross-game lore goes. Modifying Souleater to increase our magic damage sounds okay, as long as it doesn't work with Dread Spikes and/or Endark.
