The soundtrack is amazing in FFXI, without a doubt. But here's a cool idea: what if we added a new tune for battles? Although some Battle engagement sounds change, for the most part its the Standard tune we know and love. I think it would be cool if you could choose a list of tunes to have as your Battle Theme. Just something nice to spice up the combat :D

Or give each Abyssea zone its own theme at least.

Or turn off game sounds like most people and put on that media player! Nothing says "I love FFXI" like tuning it out :)

"yeah that's an awesome idea Haru I think I'll try that!"

Sorry, had a bad urge for a troll moment.

Yeah, we really didn't get our money's worth for Abyssea, in terms of new scores for zones and battle. The scores of a zone make a huge contribution to the mood of an area. Castle Zvahl Baily Keep has a different feel than say, The Sanctuary of Zitah. You go to one Abyssea Zone, and it feels like you've been to them all. Uluegrand Range should sound nothing like Grauberg!

Just look at the game Pre-Abyssea. Each and every zone has unique music, unique quests, unique missions and unique storylines. Abyssea is thrown together re-hased zones done quickly because SE was afraid to lose subscribers, with the implementation of ToM "barcode" quests.

Seriously. I'm all for new content and expanding the LvCap. But I'm willing to wait an extra year or two, if it means it will actually have some quality and care put into it.
