If you're refering to any sort of competion regarding them. I think it would be far to long and costly to judge such.
But on that note; More Prishe fanfics!

There's a ton of FFXI doujins that get released in Japan, although most of them are of a certain type.

Glad to see there is some support for them at least off the record. I have one nearly ready for peer editing and i've started the sequal with plans for a 3rd. But my family doesn't like the fact I'm "wasting my time" writing something that I can get no money from and want me to persue physically publishing these for sale and not just post online on free fanfic sites. But I keep telling them it can't be done without SE permission do to copyright then they yell at me to get permision. And so I started this thread...
Any info to get my family off my back would be nice. Whether it can really be physically done or just other free sites outside fanfiction.net for wider viewing audiance.

I'd like to put on record I'm not interested in money. I write for fun. Always have. Always will. Just looking for ways to share my fun and give readers the joy and satifaction of a good story.

I would like to see SE host a competition like this, but possibly over a long period of time.
Doujins do get released in Japan for FFXI, and not all of them are of the graphic kind. Some are just cute. You know?

yeah but i'm in america not japan. I doubt a Doujin is an option for a physical paper volumn. Also for profit doujins are technically illegal. I'm not looking to get in trouble with SE.

You know, I think I remember that when the vanadiel tribune was still in business they'd publish official fanfiction written by players.
Hey Bearstar. /wave
Unfortunately, no, you cannot sell them in America. But if you were living in Japan you probably could sell them as doujins.
I don't think Square Enix has any problem with actual fanfictions being written and placed on websites like fanfiction.net. As long as they're obviously fanfiction and not a declaration to owning the material I don't think they'd even have a case against you.
